The black tie event takes place at the Savoy Ottoman Palace hotel from 6.30pm on Friday 6 November. Organiser Rachael Lyes commented: “Last year’s event was fairly staid for the first few hours due to hosting the Police Roll of Honour Trust, but this year there will be no long speeches. We will of course have our act of remembrance at the beginning but then my aim is for us all to have a fun filled evening with entertainment provided by Tuxedo Junction. There will only be a sealed bid silent auction for 3 items this year rather than a full blown auction. But we will have plenty of fancy raffle prizes on offer plus the money box for one lucky winner so do come along and support our charity for the headline event of the year for the RBL Kyrenia Branch. Tickets are £40 for RBL members and £45 for non-members which includes a 3 course dinner and unlimited premium drinks.”

I really enjoyed the event last year (my first one) and this year looks even better. I hope we get lots of people to come - it's for a fantastic cause (especially a few days before Remembrance Day) and is our last chance for a posh knees up before the winter sets in.

Brilliant night (well done Rachael & Trevor Lyes for organising it) and lots of money raised for this year's Poppy Appeal.
