Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble 2014

With a new name and a new day, the Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble 2014 will be placing more emphasis on the fun aspect of the day.
The event will take place on Sunday, 6th April starting from the Magic Bar, near Esentepe.
With a 2km, 5km and 8km race, registration will begin at 0845 for all three categories. The 2km race will set off at 0930 and the 5km and 8km will start together at 1030. Participants will be encouraged to get sponsorship and forms will be available from mid-January or can be pre-requested by emailing esentepefunrunandramble2014@outlook.com. There will be no charge to turn up and take part on the day but a donation will be expected.
All participants are encouraged to wear fancy dress or a tee-shirt dedicated to the reason they are participating.
The event, in its 4th year, is dedicated to raising as much money as possible for TULIPS and to making the event a fun-filled experience.
Art Watson, Chairman of the organising committee said: “We are seeking to update the event. We have a new name and a new day which should enable more people to take part. Our prime objective is to raise money for the charity but we want all those involved to enjoy the whole experience”.

The Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble Committee are delighted to announce the recent sponsorship from Gimmick Gift and Print Shop, Karakum, to produce reduced cost, bespoke t-shirts for the event scheduled for Sunday, 6 April 2014.
The Company is offering discounted/reduced costs of TL23 per t-shirt, with your own design or even a printed photograph of a loved one (which must be on A4 paper for transfer to the t-shirt). Each t-shirt will include the new Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble 2014 logo plus the individual’s choice of printing.

One the events’ regular participants, Paul Harman of Yorkshire, will again walk the 5km Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble 2014 in aid of TULIPS, Help Those With Cancer.
Mr Harman, 43, along with his parents Anita and Mike Harman have a holiday home in Esentepe but they will not be in North Cyprus on 6th April. Nevertheless, Mr Harman, who embodies the ethos of this event, is resolutely collecting a significant amount of money from family and friends here and in the UK and will be walking the route on his return in late April or early May.
Readers will remember that last year, Mr Harman walked the route, after the event, with Gill Moon and he will do the same again this year.
Mr Harman said: “I have already filled my sponsor form and am taking another one with me to UK so that everyone has a chance to donate.”
Art Watson, Chairman of the organising committee member said “Mr Harman is an inspiration to us all. He knows he won’t be here on 6th April but still he is getting sponsorship and is determined to do the walk on his return and raise as much as he can for this North Cyprus charity.”

Running numbers will be issued on the day and we are expecting around 50 serious 8k runners and 300 fun walkers /runners -including 7 teams of 3 legged walkers.

We have loads of commitment from schools and organisations this year and we hope you can make it.
