As the Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble 2015 takes place on Sunday, 5th April 2015, which is Easter Sunday, we want to make it even more fun that usual so come along wearing your best Easter bonnet, the more outrageous (but remember there will be children present) the better. A small prize for the best child bonnet and for the best adult bonnet. Let your imagination take you on a fantasmagorical journey and see what happens.

THE sponsorship forms for the Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble 2015 have now been received from the government are ready for distribution.
The first form was handed over to Paul Harman, 44, who is one of the event’s regular participants even though he lives in Hull in UK. His parents Anita and Mike Harman have a holiday home in Esentepe but they are not generally in North Cyprus in April. However, this does not stop Mr Harman from getting sponsorship from North Cyprus and UK and last year he raised approximately TL1,200 for the charity.
Mr Harman usually walks the route with Gill Moon, sometime in May and will do so again in 2015. He said, “I like to have my sponsor form early so I can start asking for sponsorship straight away. I enjoy the walk and raising the money for Tulips.”
Mary Watson, Committee member of Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble handed over the first sponsorship money, TL40, to Mr Harman and said: “Paul is an inspiration to us all and he really enjoys doing the walk and raising the money for Tulips so it seemed fitting he receive the first sponsorship form.”
The Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble 2015 will take place on Sunday, 5th April starting and finishing at Magic Bar near Esentepe and sponsorship forms are available from committee members or by emailing EFRAR2015@outlook.com.

We are delighted to annouce that the founder of Help Those With Cancer (Tulips), Raziye Kocaïsmaïl and her Project Co-ordinator, Engin Savim will walk the 8km route in this year’s Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble.
Mrs Kocaïsmaïl, who founded Tulips 21 years ago because there was no Oncology unit within the state hospital system stated: “It is very important we keep raising money for Tulips and I am very happy that the Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble takes place each year and donates the money to us. Engin and I are going to walk the 8km route because we want people to see us and know we are very grateful for all they do to help us.”
She continued: “I am very excited about taking part in the 8km walk as I will walk for all our patients who are currently under treatment and I want to wish them a speedy recovery so that we can walk together next year. I am very much looking forward to the 5th of April”.
Art Watson, Chairman of this year’s committee for the Fun Run said: “We are delighted Mrs Kocaïsmaïl and Mr Savim are taking part in the event as this will, we believe, encourage more people to sign up this year and perhaps encourage more sponsors too. We will cheer them both over the finish line.”
Engin Savim, Project Co-ordinator of Tulips said: “I believe that when the people see the President of the Association taking part in the Fun Run, more people will want to get involved”.
Both Mrs Kocaïsmaïl and Mr Savim have sponsorship forms and if you would like to sponsor either of both of them then please contact them via 0542 8531121.

Great news! We now have the t-shirts for the Esentepe Fun and Ramble 2015 and they are on sale now at just TL15 each.
On the front is the EFRAR logo, surrounded by 7 ribbons, representing different cancers. On the reverse are the words Trust, Understanding, Love, Inspiration, Passion and Strength, the initial letters of which spell TULIPS (Help Those With Cancer Association).
Art Watson, Chairman of the EFRAR 2015 committee commented: “It was decided to have a Fun Run t-shirt this year as everyone likes a souvenir of any events in which they have participated. Not only are we are delighted with the quality of the t-shirts which were organised through Raziye Kocaïsmaïl and Tulips by way of their contacts in Turkey but we feel the logos on the front and reverse perfectly reflects Tulips’ work and ethos.
We feel that TL15 is a good price reflecting the quality and amount of work which has gone into producing them. We have 500 available and Tulips also has 500 so there should be no shortages and as they are available now, we hope people will buy them even before the Fun Run Day.”

If you would like to buy one of the t-shirts (sizes S, M, L, XL, XXL) in advance of the Fun Run please call Gill Moon 0533 8771036. or Ivor Moon 0533 839 5280. The t-shirts will also be available at any Fun Run related event and of course, on 5th April, the Fun Run day

Just a few more days to go before the biggest charity event of the year..This year's Esentepe Fun Run And Ramble is being held during Cancer Week so please join us to raise vital funds for Tulips - To Help Those With Cancer

Members of the "To Help Those With Cancer" association and the founder Raziyre Kocaismail will be joining us on the day and Raziyre (health permitting)intends to walk the full 8 kilometres.

We are very pleased to announce that 18 children from the Special Needs School in Ziyamet for the very first time will be taking part in the 2 kiiometre walk and we are extremely grateful to "The Little Society of Kyrenia"for funding their travelling expenses and for supplying a packed lunch for each of the children. This will be a fabulous experience and the children will receive a medal and the EFRAR T-Shirt.We also welcome 30 children from the Esentepe Junior School who for the second year running will be taking part in the 2 kilometre walk.

It promies's to be a great day so please come along to support the children and have some fun.
