Does anybody know the time of the air display in Girne on Friday.

Its usually around 6pm.

So yes, the air display ... which one will be able to see in the skies above Girne ... will indeed start at 6 pm on Friday.

6 pm but its not the usual Red Stars its a solo F16 acrobatic display. Red Stars are coming later this year.

There are 2 of them, and they were practising over Girne yesterday, and just one today........he has just gone, and was very loud......looking forward to Friday. Saw him last November and he was brilliant, comes in very close.......

There are only 2 planned air displays annually.

In today's haberkktc report (below) it refers to Solo Türk as a "gösteri ekibi", which means "display team".

However, you might be right Deniz1 ... maybe there are various individuals that perform solo for the team ... furthermore in all the pictures I've seen of them, like the one below, I've only ever seen one F16.

My TC wife though understood that the "Solo" name comes from the fact that the F16 airplanes are, as written in the article, "tek kişilik" which means for one person.

In any case, we'll see tomorrow at 6 o'clock

I don't really understand why you have chosen to use a rolling eyes emoticon in you post - Despite what the news web-site wrote, I think it's more likely that it will just be a single airplane tomorrow evening ... just as you think.

So, for all you wondering about Friday's air display it should be at 6pm.

And Ladbrokes have offered the following odds on the numbers of planes in the display :
1 plane : 7 to 5
2 planes : 11 to 4
3 or more : 2 to 1

When I saw the practise session the other day I saw 2 planes flying together over Ozankoy, so I guess there must be at least 2 of them, unless one of them is an understudy.

Well done Deniz ... strange though that it was referred to as a display team. Herneyse ...

The display by Solo Turk was awesome, if you missed it you missed the best acrobatic display you will probably ever see.

The pilot turned that F16 around on a sixpence and did things that an aircraft was not designed to do. Plus the noise was unreal and deliberatley targeted at the crowd.

In the past the crowd has always given credit to the display team down on sea front, last night it was a standing ovation!!

Turkish Stars on 15th November you will have to pull out all the stops.
