THE Entertainment, Raffle and Auction Night at Stevie’s restaurant in Küçük Erenköy was a great success and money is still coming in.
However, one item in the auction which caused quite a stir was a framed, signed t-shirt, with associated memorabilia from none other than Anthony Joshua MBE the current IBF heavyweight champion. He also holds the WBC International, British, and Commonwealth heavyweight titles.
The items were donated by Steve Smith of Bahceli who is a friend of the boxer and it sold at auction for TL750 to Ian Fletcher for his son, Kai, the 2016 Carrington Shield winner.
Mr Smith commented: “I had the items framed and decided to put it into the auction because I thought it would help raise money for Tulips. I am very pleased that the bidding went as high as it did and I know it has gone to a good home.”
Kai said: “I am very pleased my father had the winning bid as I really wanted to win it. I will treasure it always even though it will hang in my father’s bar in the garden”.
IBF champion Joshua will make the first defence of his belt against the American challenger, Dominic Breazeale, at The O2 in London on June 25.
