Well, we all went down there at 7 30' ish pm and most stall holders had, or were in the process of packing up and certainly there was no apparent 'live music'?? So what happened?

Perhaps it happened later. i thought there was to be karaoke! Were there many in the restaurant then? I had to leave earlier.

Big disappointment I should think for all concerned. Between 4.00 and 5.30 p.m there were very few stalls, even less customers, and only three people in the restaurant area. It's probable that many tourists --not on the forum -- would not have known of the new Thursday opening.
Hopefully, things did improve later in the evening.

Missed you Dog Walker! I was there at those times ! Were you in the cafe? anyway, I look forward to hearing form those who were there later on in the day. I would have gone back for late, but was elsewhere, so ........ If I had thought about it, it might have been an idea to tell the hotels, but I am sure that will happen as it would be a greatplace for tourists to pop to to see the sunset, have a bite, buy some bargains etc, etc.

Thank you all for your comments and views.....I think like most new ventures and regular events here...it takes time to establish and get known and get the regular visitors and tourists to come along. The Sunday Market started some 8-9 months ago and even back then we had to give it time to grow and get established....now Sunday has become the busiest and packed day of the week, Saturdays Market commenced 2 months ago...and that is well on its way to becoming regularly full with stalls. It won't be long before Thursdays becomes a sell out too!! So keep the support coming and spread the word ..... that Bamboo Beach North Cyprus is the place to visit.
Bamboo Beach North Cyprus now has regular promotions on most forums advertising what is going on and when...follow our updates on facebook: Bamboo Beach North Cyprus

If the rumours are true regarding the owners of Bamboo Beach it seems like another venture gone down the drain.

Thursday evening markets are dis-continued for the time being....due to lack of attendance by stall holders/ customers.....and general vote to hold it on a Thursday for the time being have been cancelled.....but not for long.....but Saturday and Sunday Market days are still booming 9am to 2pm every weekend.......limited amount of stalls for Sunday available, we have been inundated ...Saturday more availability 5-6 stalls available at the moment but going fast.......10tl per table both Saturday and Sunday.....call 0533 842 2220 to book; check availability and book a stall......
Thank you

Thanks for the clarification. It makes sense, but it is good to have it confirmed. Actually an evening market is good when the temperature is lower, but maybe 5p.m. is too early for that!
Good luck with the week-ends. see you then!

I would imagine that for now it will only be the market on offer, can,t see how the plans for the entertainment etc will come to pass.

actually I received an e mail from al days before Cyprus today, but of course their paper comes out before the Star. Sadly we are not running naything. Of course, it could be that Al will honour his promises! But whether he does or not, what is important is that those trying to continue are supported.
If there is any more news I will post it here, but certainly Sat and suns are still on.

Looks as though it,s closed for good now, another rogue taking people for a ride then running away, what is wrong with these people, do they have no morals.

Al May have left.....but there are those that are left that are trying to resurrect this great venture...weekend markets etc... so I think as much support as necessary is needed right now and not negative feedbacks......and thank you Marion for your kind support.

Meanwhile, Chateau Lambousa have now started up on a Sunday, thats taking off surely but slowly (probably due to the heat). Only 10tl per table.
And have just heard Lemar in Alsancak are going to try to run one on Thurs evenings and on a Monday (daytime). These are free !!!
Contact the store for more details, think its starting this week.

Thanks for that Metin, but i am sure that Bamboo beach doesn't want to think it will lose its supporters permanently to other markets. I just hope they manage to sort through the tangle of threads and come up with a super new model which will be supported by us all.
Lamboussa is well established and does well, and it a way it is unortunatethat the two markets are on the same days, but then a great chance for us all to go to two places on the same day. Especially as Bamboo is on the coastr, so provides a contrast. two great experiences in one day. But as I say, I do hope they (Bamboo Beach) will not be deserted. their ship has already sunk a bit too far1
