Reminder of the celebratory fireworks at 03:45 Sat morning

In past years, on the morning after the night before so to speak, a few of our non TC/Turk members have asked what all the commotion was about, so I thought it best to post this.

To celebrate the successful landings at Çıkarma Plajı on the morning of July 20th 1974, there will be rather loud fireworks at 3.45 am Saturday morning at the same location ; a location that non-TCs more commonly refer to as Escape Beach because of the beach club of that name there.

The fireworks will finish before 03:57, so that those wishing to fast around Alsancak and Karaoğlanoğlu can hear the ezan.

I've been reminded by a TC friend that "20 Temmuz" is not only a celebration, but a time of mourning to remember the fallen. I should have mentioned that.
