brussels and runner beans

Has anyone had any success growing the mentioned veg here in trnc? We have tried r.beans nearly every year since we have been here (11 yrs) should we give up and move on to Brussels?

I gave up on Runner bean seeds İ brought from UK.But had success from the local seed,rounded but full of flavour..got from little shop near Girne Hospital..Brussels yuck,they need frost to harden the sprouts..My best success last year,and already out of the ground for this year is Mangetout.But never seen seed sold here,came from UK.And if you get,stagger the planting.such good crops....If you go that little shop,get slug pellets(İlaç)little pink ones sold loosely.Also loose seed to plant,better chance it has been harvested here.
