Need to plant a tree for privacy outside our boundary. Fairly fast growing. We know the goats don’t eat the pepper tree, or oleander. Can anyone give any other suggestions. ficus nitida has been one recommendation but I don’t know about it’s growing habits. Would appreciate any feedback. Kath

FICUS NITIDA (Indian Laurel) would be a suitable choice.
A quick growing evergreen with large glossy leaves, similar to the Ficus Benjamina we see sold as indoor green pot pants but with much larger leaves..
Suitable as a specimen tree if the area you wish to screen is not too wide, although it can grow quite large if left unpruned.
Otherwise if you have a large area you wish to screen then several can be planted to form an attractive hedge. you can see a photograph here.........

I do see them growing here but finding a Grower or Nursery who sells them could be the hard part.

Mm, bought 2 nice ficus as recommended by the garden. Yummy yummy, the goats love them. Hey ho.
Got a refund at the garden centre.
