Mealy Bugs

A warning to all to check for the above as I have found a fresh infestation on one of my Hibiscus that seems especially susceptable. At the back end of last year I managed to contain them by judicous pruning and brushing the few left off everyday with a paintbrush, they had already spread to a nearby Jacaranda and Guava. I did spray earlier this year against the over wintered but think I will need to spray again this time as they seem quite well established.
Also, anyone spraying against fruit fly yet? What the birds didn't spoil, the fruit fly ruined on my Yeni Dunya but I still got enough for two jars of jam!

We don't usually get problems with mealy bugs until much later in the year but will check. Thanks. The locals call them pamuk bocek (cotton beatle) should anyone want to seek a remedy in the garden centres.
