Yesterday I took out 300tl from the HSBC Catalkoy ATM, today I check my account on-line to find it had deducted 800tl!! Unfortunately, I used my UK debit card so trying to talk to HSBC Turkey or UK is just ridiculous.

Also, I have only just been warned by my wife that other people on Kibkom have complained about the same problem from the same machine, so I'm a little too late. Fortunately, it was only 500tl.

And NO, I didn't get a receipt, I'm a man and we don't carry unnecessary paper.........

Just posting as a new warning to others, beware! DO NOT USE IT!

It would seem that HSBC know this machine is a problem but have chosen to do nothing!!

I have been posting warnings about that machine since the summer.

They must have borrowed it from the casino. I don't think anyone can afford to lose 500TL on a 300TL sure thing. I'd kick up a stink at the bank, preferably when it's full.

What am I supposed to do, I didn't get a receipt and have no proof that I only withdrew 300tl, I think I'm stuffed basically.

Yes I now know about the warnings issued previously, I was also reminded by my wife that she told me, I honestly couldn't remember.

I don't like losing 500tl but at least it's not as bad as some, I think I read one had an issues with £1000! I've been phoning the HSBC but they just pass you around and it must have cost me 500tl in phone calls!

I had a situation at HSBC in Lefkosa, I asked for £1,000 I got zilch. Luckily I had a receipt, immediately I went in to the bank reported the problem. The girl was helpful but could not do anything until end of day when they counted the cash. After chasing up and chasing my HSBC in the UK I got reimbursed. Probably to late for you, but you need to go straight away to HSBC and report and always get a receipt.
