using Lecla android t.v box with NTV

Hi can anyone give any advice?. We have had multimax installed and told we needed an android box in order to watch t.v without running it through the laptop, so we bought the Lecla smart t.v android box but are having trouble getting the t.v channels to play. Once having signed on and going through the motions it then tells us that the browser is unable to support live t.v and suggests to us Xmbg or puffin plug in. Do we download these onto the android box?? The t.v works fine through the laptop so it's not Internet connection or speed problem so can only assume NTV problem with the streaming or are we doing something wrong?.
