NTV buffering and freezing badly
NTV tells me that the fault lies with the broadband provider. Have sent at least 6 messages to Multimax and guess what nothing has happened. Why do we have no telephone contact? Very fed up!!!!!!

1. Multimax has phone support - 0548 888 6629
2. check your speed at http://mmcyp.com/en/speedtest you need better than 2mbits for proper streaming.

Re: NTV buffering and freezing badly
My speed is good over 4mb and I am still getting buffering suspect NTV to blame again
As I got older I congratulated myself on my tolerance..... Now I realise I just don't give a "ooops"

Re: NTV buffering and freezing badly
Our NTV/FilmOn/Viewtelly/ITV live/BBC iPlayer/Roku/Android Box etc have been buffering since yesterday,
thought it was a problem with our router, until I saw this thread.
As we are getting 14 to 16 Mbps+
"you need better than 2mbits for proper streaming." As has been said previously.
The problem does not seem to be with NTV alone!
Why, when we have good speed does the streaming TV operate so badly?
So if I phone NTV, they will ask "What speed are you getting?"
14 to 16Mbps.
NTV will say "It should work at that speed"
If I phone Multimax, they will say "you need better than 2mbits for proper streaming"
So where's the problem?
It should work, it doesn't
Must be the weather

Re: NTV buffering and freezing badly
There is a general issue for MM customers (and maybe others as well) that seems to be affecting just about every UK based streaming TV service (ntv, filmon, bbc, itv, c4 etc). It started around 6pm this evening and we are doing all we can to get it rectified as soon as we can. Our helpines (and I suspect ntv's) are under severe load right now trying to keep customers informed.
Unfortunately it is not a simple as its either your internet providers fault (MM) or the TV service providers fault (NTV). At the moment there would seem to be some sort of connectivity issue between Turkey and the UK that is affecting these services, though this is not a definitive diagnosis at this time. We are working with TTnet to try and identify and resolve the issue as quickly as we can.

Re: NTV buffering and freezing badly
As Erol briefly explained. Tonight there seems to be an issue that is affecting Multimax customers, and probably every other Internet provider in Cyprus, Turkey and parts of Europe.
There seems to be a problem with some of the connectivity that connects Turkey to the rest of the world. As a result, some pages may load properly and some may be slow or even not load at all.
This is NOT and Multimax problem, and it looks like it is also NOT an NTV problem.
We are communicating with Turk Telekom in Turkey in order to find out whether they have more information about when the issue will be resolved.
We have no further information on the matter at the moment.
K.

For info unfortunately it appears this issue that we were experiencing on the 4th seems to be occurring again. We are working with TTnet to get it resolved as quickly as we can.

Re: NTV buffering and freezing badly
The all day D Day celebrations on BBC totally unwatchable and spoiled by the constant buffering and freezing.
Now trying, yes trying to watch the New Zealand v England rugby, and YES!! that's buffering and freezing too making it impossible to follow the game.
Is this what we have to look forward to this summer with the televised Football Wold Cup and the Rugby World Cup coming up. Please, please tell us things WILL IMPROVE for all us long suffering subscribers to the service by then. Which ever service that might be!!!!
Last year I took the 12 months subscription to NTV, but after all the issues with the service last year this year I only took the monthly option in the hope thing would get better. If not it looks like I'll be talking with my feet.
Can't watch anymore of the game, so turning it off, and will try and watch the highlights at 3.30 and hope that's better than the live game. THANKS NTV.
O yes my internet speeds for the record: Download 13.44Mbps & Upload 4.30Mbps

Sky Sports 1, still buffering and freezing so unable to watch the Rugby highlights. Don't know the score, don't want to know. Will hopefully get to watch the game sometime later.

Re: NTV buffering and freezing badly
This message is displayed on NTV web page.
2014/06/07 TTNet
There is an ongoing issue with turkish segment of internet for the past 6 hours. It affects Turkish and Northern Cyprus customers.
We cant right now avoid problematic segment in delivery to those regions. Servers with better connectivity to Turkey are ordered and will be deployed during next week.
So looks like we might be without TV for quite a while

Re: NTV buffering and freezing badly
Just to update, from the MM side of things we are doing everything in our power to 'pressure' TTnet to address the underlying issue but it is not under our direct control.
For those with a NTV subscription I would say the issue should not be affecting the 'movie club' movies on demand service as these movies are held on servers within north Cyprus and are not affected by the problems with the links from ttNet in turkey to the UK, as the live streams are. I realise its not much but it might easy the pain somewhat.

Re: NTV buffering and freezing badly
Have been in touch with ntv and had a very comprehensive response to my email detailing the problems, not caused by either them or multimax - so just a case of being patient and watching their excellent film channel until its all fixed. I must say that even though we can't actually ring them, their responses are very quickly sent, good service in my opinion

Re: NTV buffering and freezing badly
It seems okay in the morning to watch the depressing news but gets worse as the day goes on and totally unwatchable in the evening. Thank goodness for downloaded films and series on my external hard drive. Wonder if we will get any sort of rebate?

Rebate from who if the problem is neither caused by NTV or Multimax ? These things happen and sometimes we just have to accept that.carrierbag wrote:It seems okay in the morning to watch the depressing news but gets worse as the day goes on and totally unwatchable in the evening. Re: NTV buffering and freezing badly
If NTV are getting new servers to deal with the problem, then surely it is at least partly their problem. A goodwill gesture from them of not charging customers for the days they have not received a full watchable service would, in my opinion, be fair and reasonable.elizabeth wrote:Rebate from who if the problem is neither caused by NTV or Multimax ? Re: NTV buffering and freezing badly
Just to update - it seems TTnet, working with their main upstream providers (telia and level3) have started to get on top the issue. Certainly tonight streaming TV from my personal location was working vastly better than it had the last few previous nights we have had problems. I hope this continues to be the case and we will of course be monitoring the situation.

Re: NTV buffering and freezing badly
Are you sure you are logged in on the NTV site (does it show your name near the top right hand corner of screen) ? If not you need to log in. Are you sure you are NOT using a VPN (this will make it look like you are from the UK and thus not a MM customer and thus not entitled to the free channels). If you have checked both these things and still can not get the free channels then contact ntv on info@ntv.mxjudyvin wrote:Can't get any of the free channels as a customer of Multimax tonight though so missing the footie and he's not very happy!
