You can't beat piracy ......the real pirates are the film makers who's budgets run I to millions.
Paying actors "drug money " to sell films and dvd .
I have one of them boxes off eBay ....and I like free to air tv and film library's .
I get ibooks also ....so for me ....let's all be pirates

As a result, eBay auctions that advertise devices loaded with piracy-focused third-party addons are being removed, much to the disappointment of sellers.
Anyone typing the simple phrase “free movies” into eBay will be overloaded with many thousands of results. A large proportion offer hardware that has been customized to receive unauthorized online video.
The software these devices run is very often XBMC, or Kodi as its now known. The software in its basic form is an entirely legal media player, around since the days of the original Xbox (XBox Media Center).
However, XBMC/Kodi is compatible with third-party addons that can turn the player into a piracy powerhouse providing free access to movies, TV shows and live sports. With the advent of XBMC/Kodi for Android, eBay is now flooded with ready-built and configured ‘pirate’ boxes that anyone can operate.
So are you saying the systems you sell are legal under international copyright?

Jonnie.
Well said. This guy is a joke.
We have had this type of system here in the TRNC over the last number of years and all the customers are left with are TEEEEEERs.

TBH he probably has a system he is happy with and is trying to earn a few quid re-selling. I am not sure he has seen the "ooops" storm you can get trying to sell tv systems on forums here and perhaps we should cut him a little slack.

(LINE deleted as out of keeping with forum ethos. Mods).
I personally have lived here for over 20 yrs and hold a KIMLIK card, I have seen all the previous systems and they never produced the programs the provider says.
It has take me this long to find the MINIX X8H and this provides me with as much TV, films and TV series as I need. ANDit IS FREE.
Thanks to a very good friend who told me about it.

My take on copyright protection is quite simple. The world treats TRNC as a pariah so the world has got a cheek to expect TRNC to comply with copyright regulations. The embargos make most aspects of our lives more expensive so this one area where we can gain a little is totally OK with me.
That said, the government announced about 6 months ago that it was going to crack down on copyright infringement in TRNC - no more DVD shops, pirate tv et. al. - no doubt as part of its (totally misguided) campaign to be more European. I've heard nothing since but then things do take a long time to implement here so it may still be in the pipeline - hopefully a pipeline that takes as long as the Turkish water one.

You can buy XBMC boxes, legally, in Public in the Mall.

That's interesting, as none of the shops here in the North seem to have heard of them! - Well, none that I have spoken to...
Do you happen to remember the make or model or any sort of description, so that we might be able to do a price / performance comparison? (I know that's asking a lot!)
It would be interesting to see if they are 'fully loaded' - i.e. with all the add-ons, as the add-ons are what makes XBMC / KODI so versatile (and at the same time, enable the box to circumvent some geographical & copyright restrictions ).
I wouldn't imagine that the GC's were actually more concerned about that aspect than the UK - and the UK is a hotbed for the sale of this system, with all the 'interesting' extras...

Keith the box I have has a logo to connect to the app store and you choose what you want and download it to your box.
They sell the MINIX in the South along with other types of boxes but they are quite a bit dearer than the UK.

Thanks Mel, I didn't want to bother you, as I feel that I've 'bent your ear' quite enough on this subject! ...
I asked brian24001 about them being 'fully loaded - or not' in order to gauge their suitability for 'beginners' who might not have the confidence or ability to undertake the software installation - I know it looks easy when you've seen someone else do it, but it could be a little daunting for a complete novice. I certainly haven't got to grips with it completely yet!
I think that your tip about the minix 'x8-h' being better than the 'x8-h plus' is worth repeating in case anyone follows this up.

.
To be honest, I didn't pay that much attention, just noticed about 4-5 different IPTV boxes and at least one had XBMC on it.

I believe the box is legal but some of the addons maybe not so but it works and for watching movies is the best system out.
