Multimax new Nicosia packages

Let me first say that this company is so far the best WISP in the island regarding their high speed/price ratio and great professional customer service. Yes Ive used other companies in the past and since Im with Multimax up to this day, Im really happy with their service and telling this here and there.

Not so long ago, they changed the Girne (Super Internet) packages. First it had 50 Mbps (unlimited) during the night and 15 and 20 Mbps (its limited to a daily quota) during the day. Then its changed to Gold and Platinum packages which has only two difference and that is the daily quota and price of the service. I find this awkward though because you pay only for the quota difference and quota limits are just so low...

Today Nicosia (Residential) Packages have changed as well. Now it shows NP Standard for me and in the website for NPs and Platinum, Gold packages have unlimited speed, I do not know for Girne users but my so called "unlimited" speed is 10 Mbps I thought it would be like up to 50 Mbps and so on.

Now Im disappointed. I expected a much higher speed when Im on "unlimited speed" time slot. And besides that, 16:00-00:00 quota limits are just funny as hell. Im saying this because I know Multimax is much better than this, I was getting 3x and 2x speeds of my package and it was usually stable like I was getting much higher speeds easily. So I guess capacity and infrastructure is not an issue with Multimax.

Anyways, if you use any of these services and you think like me, please comment. I would be happy again if this things are sorted out.

There are no unlimited speed packages in Nicosia. All packages, both NP Lite and NP Standard are limited to 10Mbps speed.

The change over to new packages were initiated yesterday, so it is possible to find certain contradictory information across all media (website, brocures, etc). They are being amended as we speak and should be sorted in short time.

There are many reasons why we cannot offer similar packages in Nicosia as compared to Kyrenia, but they are too detailed or too technical to address here, needless to say that most of the reasons are unfortunately outside of Multimax control.

We have named and priced packages accordingly. NP Lite costs 700TL/annum and NP Std cost 900TL/annum.

Hope this answers your question.

Thanks for the answer. So now every package including Girne has 10 Mbps speed stated as unlimited speed yes? If this is the case, the word "unlimited" is not suitable here. Quotas are very low, need to be higher and today after 16:00 my speed dropped to 2 Mbps after 1 Gb of download I guess, so system is not working properly.

OK I get it if its outside of Multimax control, something has to be done clearly but not like that. I mean from now on Multimax lost its advantage of providing much higher speeds at lower prices. Its funny that now Nethouse has the advantage, gives 4 Mbps (no fair usage policy stated in the website) and 4x speed (16 Mbps) after 00:00 for a bit lower yearly price than Multimax.

So what has to be done is, increasing the speed after 00:00 higher than 10 Mbps for NP Standard. And the quotas as well. As I do not want to have 2 Mbps for the rest of the day for downloading a few Gbs of data and have 10 Mbps after midnight, while even in Nethouse its just the opposite.

NP Lite and NP Standard packages have a 10Mbps max connection speed. MM Gold and MM Platinum in Kyrenia do not have any speed limit. Quotas are determined based on average usage of customers.

NP Std Package customer needs to download 3GB from 4pm onwards(anything between midnight-4pm is uncounted and 'free of charge') to be put down to 5Mbps speed and a further 3GB (total 6GB) to be put down to 2Mbps speed.

There is no scenario where 1GB download would put you down to 2Mbps speed. Just today, as this is the first day of new packages, we have isolated and fixed a few issues which might have affected you or you may have had another problem. Please check again tomorrow and contact MM support if you still have any issues.

Nowhere in NP packages we state unlimited speed (If you have found any misinformation in any of our publications, please report it to us). Please check http://mmcyp.com/en/content/residential-packages -> Residential Packages (Nicosia) for more details

You are really comparing apples with oranges here... *no fair usage policy stated in the website and *speeds on paper vs speeds that you are actually receiving - being two of the major points here. We are honest about what we provide and back it up by offering best money/performance guarantee and 100% money back guarantee if you are not satisfied.

Please compare our product based on correct specifications and also real life performance and you will really understand the difference - or your money back.

Forgot to ask about upload speeds. It shows 2 Mbps in speedtest but does that drop to 256K or something after used a few Gbs like download speed?

No. Uploaded data (as well as downloaded) does count towards your peak time usage, but should you hit that peak time usage threshold in the 7 hours it operates (from 16.00 to 24.00) it is only your download speed that will be reduced during that period, not your upload.

So ok you get downloaded+uploaded data into consideration between 16:00-00:00. Then you said, upload speed won't be affected, will stay at 2Mbps all the time. Am I right?

Btw, did Multimax test the quota system before deploying it? Because Im getting drops to 2Mbps (not 5Mbps then 2Mbps as promised) after 3Gb of data transferring for the last 2 days.

OK. Erol called me today gave me detailed and satisfactory information (which I havent got any from the tickets and mails I was sending) about the problem that I was having. Now I know that they were already trying to fix the problem and its just fixed recently. Thank you again Erol, such a good man.

Now Im sorry if I have offended anyone because really that would never be my intention. Clearly, there were some misunderstandings, I think thats all.

And just to clarify some things if anyone got me wrong, Multimax is so far the best WISP company that I've used. Great, professional and quick service, cares about the customers. High, stable speed and low latency, though my only complain is not having unlimited speed at nights

I can say these things because I know how other companies behave to their customers and so on. (speaking from experience).

I'd like to know what the most suitable MM package in Kyrenia would be. I'm a swallow and use the internet during the day just for emails etc. During the evenings say 6pm - 0100 we use the internet to watch UK TV. I understand that watching TV is download heavy and we have experienced problems watching TV in the evenings. Is there a package that would allow us problem free internet usage as outlined?
