I see that filmon has stopped free TV you have to subscribe to HD costing 14.99 a month with free 10 hrs recording or 149 a year.

Yeah we've just realised as well, think I might pay for the month then see how it goes.

Likewise here; a message appeared on-screen a short while ago, saying something about "trial period has expired..." - fortunately, I also have Mobdro installed, which (so far) does not seem to be affected (and also gives the same channels and a lot more than Filmon!).

Yes annoying. My response from filmOn support said that they had to start charging due to contractual requirements with their content vendors. They apologised and said they had no possibility to let their customers know about the change of service in advance.

On 1st May 2017, all channels were set to "Paid"
Both SD and HD quality - which restricts viewing time to 2 minutes.
Previously, SD quality channels were mostly free.

Just what do you get with a paid subscription? It needs to be an improved performance without freezing intermittantly for hourd/days at a time and audio from two channels at the same time.

Does anyone know where there are some reviews by users on the 'Paid Service' for both 'SD' & 'HD' ? , although, I think, unless one has an HD TV/Monitor there there will be no advantage over ;SD'

tt.

If you are using an Android device, install and use 'Mobdro' - it's free and you can view many more channels than on Filmon.

'Showbox' offers thousands of films and most TV episodes (although it may lag by a couple of days) for free on Android devices.

Alternatively, install Kodi on your android device, there are many 'IPTV' solutions available as 'addons' for free, and if you are a Multimax customer, there is an NTV addon for Kodi which gives you the major U.K. Terrestrial programmes for free.

For Multimax users, the free NTV programmes are also available via your web browser on a PC/laptop (although not available on android except via Kodi, as mentioned above). (There have been attempts to make NTV programmes avilable via 'special' Web Browsers on Android, not particularly successful in my experience, although your mileage may vary ).

Of course, you can also install Kodi on a laptop/PC or indeed, on an Apple (IOS) device.

A little research on the internet will throw up many possibilities.

I really only watch the BBC news and keep losing it every 2 or 3 minutes.

How does anyone watch the BBC news on a kodi tv box now?

Some of the ways are detailed in my recent post on this thread (message 8).

Hi, Mobdro is not a KODI 'add-on' - it is an Android App, which you can download from http://mobdro.ca - as you realised, it is not available through Google Play Store.

One other possibility for watching UK BBC programmes that I didn't mention, is 'BBC iPlayer' - which you can install on a PC/Laptop, or as an add-on for KODI if you're using an Android or Raspberry Pi. You will need to use a VPN to watch via BBC iPlayer of course, the free Multimax VPN works fine for this.
