TV Via computer

Hi all can anyone please tell me if it is possible to stream live uk tv channels from a laptop to a tv. and if so how? please dont make it too technical if I need to get advice from a computer shop where is the best place to go ? I live in the old turkish quarter of Girne. thanks

Hi.

You need an HDMI Cable. Look in the computer shop between Credit West Bank & AS Bank. He sells them. 30 TL i think. Make sure your TV has a HDMI Port. Or try any Computer shop.

thank you for that chiangbill do you also know how to receive live uk tv on to computer as when I tried to access bbc a message came up telling me I couldnt access it from my location outside uk? Also do I need a special device to allow me to get online without too much expense?

You will need to download a uk vnp to make it look like you are in the uk.Some are free but come with ads or pay up to 5 pounds per month.Some internet providers give this for free (multimax ect).

Ooh sorry got the wrong end of the stick.

you can get a "scart to VGA" adapter, or cable or similar to connect the laptop to the tv as a display.
I've seen them on ebay. If the tv is a more modern lcd one you can get a vga cable (or HDMI).
Have a look at what is on the back of your tv.
