Isn't there supposed to be an office in Girne now? Somewhere down pass the new harbour roundabout?

It was something I heard but do not know any further details, maybe someone else knows???

Yes I saw something, I am sure it is in the office on the left hand side as you go into the new harbor, I would have a ride down there before going over the mountain

I have been twice to register phones. You have to first register and get your form from Telekom special office near Domino Pizza in Nicosia , directions as above, you will need passport and phone unique number to fill in the form. You pay 13.5 tl and they give you a stamped form for you to pay the customs tax at the 'gumruk' office. There is one at the side of the office but it always packed and so it's much easier to come back to Girne to the 'gumruk' office at the New Harbour. It's the last building on the left, upstairs and the 4th door on the right. Just give your form to the lady next to the window and she will tell you how much. Pay her, get your receipt and take it to your phone providers office.

Can you advise what the cost would be for the tax or the calculation they use. Is it cheaper to bring phone from Uk or buy one here in the North?

I think that this has been covered in previous threads - it seems that they have a 'look up table', whereby they look for your particular 'phone make and model, which tells them the price. They can tell you, no one else can...
