Switched on my Redmi this morning to find the above has appeared. Actually sometimes its ghosted and others, keyboard is appearing at the top but it won't shift. Yesterday I received a Whatsapp from Australia and whilst trying to find cure for keyboard this morning I noticed in languages that I had an Australian keyboard (have put back to English UK) Checked on Google and can't find a remedy other than going back to factory settings keyboard (which I don't want to have to do unless absolutely necessary) and most of the reasons seem to be caused by gaming and hitting more than one key at a time. I don't game!

Its a Redmi Note 8 Pro
Model M1906G7G
Android Version
10QP1A
I'm sure when I first obtained the phone, I was looking for something else in Settings and came across this problem, but as its never happened before, I can't remember the heading I saw it under. I can't think of any good reason why anyone would want it like this as its so annoying!!!!

Try this as well.

Quite a few problems with this on other Android phones as well and often it seems to be down to the screen needing to be cleaned. Not come across it myself but it does appear to be common.
If the two above don't cure it just nip into where you got it from as I am sure they will be happy to help.

Fixed it myself. I realised the keyboard wasn't ghosting (wrong word) but "floating" from place to place all over the screen. Click on the three dots at top TRHS of screen, one of them said "floating" clicked on it and keyboard suddenly changed to correct size and fixed itself to the bottom of screen. Problem solved. Apparently "ghosting" is when you press a "d" and then 10 "d's" suddenly appear. Thanks all the same.
