I'm the same, maybe that's the magic substance in retaining a long relationship ... (fear I've put my foot in it again!)

I just posted a long reply and it hasn 't made it. Might wait to see if it is trapped in cyberspace before trying again.
But one question - how old were you, Soner when you got wed????

Well, good question.... My wife tells everyone that she snatched me off the shelve. I ask her what on earth is she on about..... I was still in the box, didn't make it onto the shelves.....................................18 and nearly a half.

Mr Vince, going to the Dragon tonight but stopping for drinks at the Colony first. If I was expecting a cuddle we would be heading the the fast food cafe in Alsancak

Well last night was a success in the end. Went to the Colony to start off but my wife said the prices were to expensive so walked up to the Grapevive instead where the prices were half the price and very generous wine measures. After a pleasanr few glasses we walked down to the Dragon and my wife was really looking forward to this, it is closed on Monday!! She was not impressed that I had not planned this a little better!!
Decided to go to Niazzi's instead and must say that every table was full but we had an enjoyable evening, the food was good, the service was excellent and the price was reasonable. So in the end it was a success and even got a dolmus back at 23:00 to save me having to spend on a taxi. The end result was the wife crashed out when her head hit the pillow and this morning she's just had two headache tablets and gone back to sleep!

Stormy, had a very good evening, been down the Grapevine this afternoon and off to Ikimiz this evening. Making the most of our last few days. Booked for Number 14 plus Missina so a busy end to our holiday gain, looking forward to July next

Congrats to all with long-lasting marriages - we will celebrate 40 years in June, but sadly will be back in UK by then. Married in Nicosia in 1972, honeymooned in a flat in the old stable building of Bellapais Abbey, used Makarios' bullet-proof Mercedes as our wedding car....! Been visiting the island ever since, and now have our own place. Looking forward to the re-opening of the very promising-looking Palms restaurant on Lapta strip (next to the Cabin) for a birthday celebration in a couple of weeks - hope they get it finished in time.

Soner, the end of July would be great for the BBQ because it will be the UK holiday season with a bigger crowd to come along. The weather is not goodhere today, rain and clouds although the thought of flying back on Sunday is even more miserable

Scarlets, try and bring some sun back to the UK, just until I return to Cyprus in July.

No sun at moment Soner and I must say that Crodon isn't regarded as one of the UK's hotspots!
Would love the UK to warm up again when we get back, it won't be too long before we are back here 25th July

Took my wife to the fast food cafe last night and she still loves me. Cheap as chips, that's how I like it

Went for lunch at Ikimiz - absolutely delicious! Short menu, but all cooked fresh and the most delicious lamb and kofta, bread, salad, yoghurt - superb. Very friendly, lots of nice little nooks and corners in the garden, will definitely go again - might try nightime, think it would be good. This restaurant is a bit od "old Cyprus" - nothing posh, but so welcoming and quirky. Thanks for the recommendation.

Marion, we always enjoy the Cafe Fast Food in Alsancak, excellent value for money, a great welcome and even a brandy on the house. Even the mrs loves it so always a cheap outing there
