Has anyone tried this recently refurbished (practically rebuilt) restaurant since it opened recently. Haven't had a chance to stop there yet but would be interested in any comments. Thank you.

Do you mean the one that used to be Valley View, not far from Acapulco. Noticed it was open a couple of weeks ago, and would also be interested in feedback.

Yes we went the other night and although service left a little to be desired all in all was very good offering the usual local gastronomic delights along with a small selection of specials such as steaks etc. Nicely done out and would say worth a visit however wouldn't go to far out of my way 7/10 I gave it lol

We went a few weeks ago and don't think it had been open long, must agree service not 100% yet and menu was limited at the time of our visit, but the food was o.k. and agree 7/10.

We tried it 2 weeks ago, it had only been opened for a few days.
We were extremely pleased, all the meze was tasty and freshly made, we had the full kebab which was very good and lots of it. 4 of us 2 bottles of wine 200 Tl.
We are coming back in September with our family and it will be one of the first we will go for, they have a play area for children which looks good and safe, our 2 grandchildren will be with us and I think they will like it.
I hope they will do well.

Well situated and very nicely furnished. We went on a very hot lunchtime when it was too hot to even sit outside in the shade. We sat inside and were very impressed with the well designed windows that roll right back to make you feel as if you are eating outside. The salad was good with a nice selection of leaves but the garlic bread was poor as the garlic and the edges of the bread were burnt. Not god enough for 12TL. We both had the chicken in a mushroom sauce. It was a generous portion. But the chicken was either a very old bird, or more likely had been cooked the night before and reheated as it was very tough and dry, despite the sauce, which was actually very nice. The sauté potatoes and vegetables were good but the chicken let it down. For the prices they charge they really have to raise their game if they are going to compete. I hope they do as it is a lovely looking restaurant with a nice view. We were disappointed with the meal and will not return for a while , when hopefully they will have upped their game. However, I feel it deserves deserve a second chance. 6 out of 1o from me.

Did you tell them about the chicken?

In two words, don't bother!
We took two elderly disabled Cypriot neighbours, one in a wheelchair and one with a stick. Help was not given, the table was rickety, the wine was warm and the service was dire. The food was okay but just okay.
True the view to one side is lovely but the stagnant green pond was attracting Mosquitos and the road noise was intrusive.
Won't be returning as for that sort of meal Eminem is far superior and when we go at lunchtime help is always given with the wheelchair by the lovely Shayna waiters, Engin and Sam.
If, as rumour has it that, Ali Cagnier has taken over Hurma from his brother, it is a long way short of the service provided by his staff at the Pia Bella.

No Deniz1, I didn't tell them about the chicken. Past experience has taught me that restaurant owners dont take kindly to even the mildest form of criticism. I would never trust eating what they would bring you in replacement, if you get my drift! I prefer now to vote with my feet and to also write what I hope is a fair and balanced review about my experience. That way, people can be alerted to any short comings and then decide for themselves.

Five of us went in for a meal on a Friday night. It was not particularly busy yet the service was slow. Our vegetarian got her food about 20 minutes after the rest of us! and only after we made a fuss. The food was average at best. Certainly not good enough for a special night out. Booking Eminem for our anniversary night!!

Good choice with Eminem for the anniversary, Gavin.
I see that Hurma
are offering on Firsatkibris today. They will fill their tables with the offer I suppose but I dread to think what the service and food will be like if they are really busy!!
Would advise anyone going not to sit near the water feature pool/pond.

On entering Catalkoy from Girne take the first right turning after Supreme. Almost immediately turn right and pass the Fez on the RHS. Follow the signs for Eminem and it is a left hand turn from the Fez road. Enjoy

Had lunch at Hurma yesterday very nice.
Will most certainly be a regular visitor if standard is kept the same.
We could not fault anything at all.
