We are good at times about posting about restaurants where the food is not good ,bad service and so on .

We have been going to Kamares now for over a year and the food and service have been excellent every time, all dishes freshly cooked and delicious . We have no connection whatsoever to Kamares but would wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone whether they go in the evening or to their 3 course Sunday lunch.

If coming west from Girne on the bypass turn right at second roundabout and 200 metres on your right Kamares. Coming from Lapta first roundabout on the bypass turn left and 200 metres on your right Kamares. There are signs at the roundabout.

Family run restaurant and the owner is always there to make sure you have enjoyed your meal.

My favourite Indian restaurant, love the prawn Biryani. Biggish prawns, not what I call shrimps!

I am sucker for food and love good food; always looking for a good / new places to eat & experiment.

Exceptional Indian food establishments like Chinese both are tricky and hard to find. I have tried Jashan, courtyard, and the Chinese next to the Lemar at Karakum. Frankly my rating in all cases was ok "not the best" "I wouldn't sing & dance about how good they are".
The Dragon next to the Rock was the very best of the Chinese restaurants, shame it shut down.

Yet I remain to find a good authentic Indian restaurant.....

Having reading your post about "Kamares" and the comments from various members, I am tempted to give this place a try and post my verdict.

Fatsam, I was of the opinion that the Dragon next to Lemar in Karakum was the original Dragon from the Rocks Hotel !!

Most Indian restaurants in UK are actually run by Bengalis (Bangla Deshis). You won't get that absolute authentic food here. Nosheen got very close when it first opened at what was the Friends hotel. Kamares is very good, but not the same, but best of the bunch in my view.

Sounds good, will definitely try it out when next in TRNC... hopefully soon. But, now I really fancy and Indian so off to my local http://www.sangri.co.uk - oh, and yes I built the website for them.

great place and food but any more of that trance music will drive me nuttier than I already am ! have mentioned this to the owner but got the usual massively intelligent shoulder shrug which was surprising ! but prefer it to most here !

Soner, do they deliver to Girne area and what is the delivery charge???

Beware of Kamares at lunchtime. Not all the menu is available. We were very disappointed!! Evenings, the food of the FULL MENU is very good.

Visited Kamares last night for a meal.Very nice food & service.Reasonably priced as well.Worth a visit.
