We enjoyed a very pleasant meal at Capitano restuarant last evening. It has been refurbished, and is very pleasant indeed.
There was a very good and varied choice on the menu, a little bit different from the norm. Last evening they did a special deal. Pay for a main meal and first drink, then after that all local spirits we on the house.
Jonnie Lee was entertaining, even though he has ''Man flu'', he did a good job.
I wish then every success.

Thanks for the review Flowerfairy. In all the years we have been coming here and living here, have never come across anyone that's been, but always wondered if it is ok. Its been going for years as far as I know, so good to get a review finally.

Thank you for your support and kind words, Virtually everyone you speak to says they have never been in the place even people who have lived here years.
A nice new venue a few little things they need to sort but overall good comments .

We went there when it had only been open for about 3 months - about 10 years ago.
They poisoned us and robbed us for the privilege of doing so. We also said never again!
Wishing Jonny Lee every success with this venture and will definitely be calling again for a tryout.

This the 3rd time I have tried to post on this , then the topic disappeared, 3rd time lucky maybe my posts just did not appear. What a great surprise to see it inside at long last. We enjoyed it the food was quality the drinks offer was a nice touch my other half says try to get the same deal on Red wine. L.O.L.. The the only thing a bit below par was poor J.L. But like someone says he had the worst illness known to mankind. Hope it goes well there for the new owners.

Thank You Suehowlittle and the other posters. But hey my manflu , it really is, spent the afternoon yesterday in the state hospital, very impressed with speedy service and overall standard of help. Instant ECG and BP. Blood test results in 45 minutes.
I am supposed to avoid colds at all costs. How can you do that ? I am dosed up to the hilt with Vits. and swear by Echineacha but still get caught out occasionally. First cold in 16 months so not bad going.
Anyway, next time I will try to get Lady Flu. I gather that is like a walk in the park.

Had a very enjoyable lunch today in the Capitano . Food was good and service good. I think we caught then unaware as only customers but they did a great job. Only one comment they could have enhanced the main courses B&B having either a mixed salad or sautéed vegetables with the main course rather than only chips and mash potatoes.

About 4 months ago the new owners opened this restaurant and i should say that there is one of the best food in Cyprus now. A very professional chef, high quality kitchen and unusual meals. Everything is hand made, great steaks, real sauces, fantastic deserts. The prices may be a bit higher than average but this food cost every cent! We advise everybody to give a try. Sure that you like it. They also have snack menu for very reasonable prices. The staff speak good English and Turkish. You can see some pictures here:
