Acmenya Restaurant - a huge disappointment !!

This morning I rang the Acmenya Restaurant in Alsancak to book a Sunday lunch for 4 people. I specifically asked if they were doing Sunday lunches and gave them the time of 3:30pm. They confirmed they were doing lunches and took my name and confirmed the booking.

You can imagine our disappointment when, after 4 of us had been sitting in the restaurant garden for over 10 minutes without any greeting or service, we were told they had no idea about our booking and that they were not doing Sunday lunches at all. The waiter was actually quite rude, almost accusing us of not having made any call, then blaming it on maybe the 'boss' (whoever that is) for having taken the call and not telling the restaurant, and then saying that maybe he could check with the kitchen if they could maybe do a chicken dish. Sorry not good enough and I have to say we will never go back !! Shame really as we had heard good things about this place, but rudeness from a member of staff is just not acceptable. Maybe an apologetic response and a bit more helpfulness in dealing with the issue would have put things right for us !!
