We had a lovely meal there last night.

Without reservation, I would recommend that you give this new venture a try, if you are looking for quality cuisine.

The Tom Yum & Prawns soup was the right up there with the best that I've ever had, the Szechuan Prawns main dish was superb, and the Oh my God and Californian Sushi dishes were excellent.

The staff and chef were very helpful and attentive, and we will definitely be returning soon.

It's just off the main drag, on on the road down to Deniz Kizi Hotel; it was previously Bar 88, if that helps you.

Is it the place labelled as "LaVista Restoran" on Google Maps (enter 35.3489793, 33.2248833 in GM and search)....?
If so, I'll add it to my satnav POI list.

Hello All,

I may be mistaken in thinking that it was previously Bar 8.8 (which I was only ever in once, a few years ago), but it is certainly on the same road as the Deniz Kizi hotel, which, according to Google Maps, is Dumlupinar Sokak. It is located opposite that street's junction with Akincilar Sokak.

Jofra, LaVista Restoran seems to be located further north on Dumlupinar Sokak, again according to Google Maps.

KC, thanks for your PM - your knowledge of the history of local pubs & restaurants is surely to be trusted as more reliable than mine.

TheRed Lion is actually next door to the La Vista (which has been closed for a while). Turn off the m ain road a t the Denizkizi sign and it is 50 yards on the right.

Coming into Alsancak from girne side it is just before ilelli supermarket on the right

and next to deniz kizi hotel and the entrance to their beach

Just to add as tried this last night
Decor - very good in keeping with menu theme. Easy at this time of year to keep doors closed and totally separate from pub. Making it a lovely small cosy area. (Counted 22 seats)
Food - we had spare ribs and chicken wings to start - tasty very good
Thai green curry (partner requested Spicer than normal and no broccoli- done) chicken penang (ignore spelling) - both meals cooked perfectly and tasty. Rice also cooked correctly.
Also had Indian dishes on menu so next time we'll try those
Staff - not in your face but attentive and pleasant

We'll be back really enjoyed it

Thanks for the thumbs up guys.

We keep evolving and trying new dishes each day and if we enjoy them they go on the specials board.

At the moment the crispy cod fillet with chilli and plum sauce has become quite popular, and so

the search goes on for other new delicious dishes.

Would it be possible to post the menu and wine list with prices? especially the wines as you are the expert. We enjoy your wines.

Sadly right now i don't have a scanned menu for food or wines, but as a guide for you i can tell you our wines start

at 35tl for a tinto rioja and 35 for a Californian Cabernet and chilean 2012 shiraz

And 75tl for a bottle of NZ Marlboro Sauvignon Blanc

50tl for a stellenbosch shiraz merlot.

Our wine list is approx 12 reds, 4 rose,12 white, and 5 sparkling and a prosecco from 30tl a bottle.

As im sure you know these prices are very reasonable considering they are being sold through a restaurant, prices all through our company

are the same .

As always, Making Life Richer For The Pourer

Hi,
I know this isn't a restaurant query, but do you stock'' Drostdy Hof Claret Select - South African'' in your shop ?

I have visitors coming over from Zambia, and would like to try to get some, as it's their favourite wine?
Thank you

Drostdy Hof Claret Select is only for sale within South Africa i believe !

We do have a superior estate than Drostdy Hof, http://bellinghamwines.com/

And also a few other SA collections which i'm sure would keep your guests very happy indeed !
