does anyone with a good knowledge of Chinese food rate this restaurant? we have heard such mixed views but are desperate for a good Chinese meal without MSG but with authentic cooking.

We have only eaten once and will not go back, both meals tasted the same, one was sweet and sour and the other black bean full of MSG but tha was 18 months ago before it was refurbished.

Well we are not food critics but have eaten Chinese food in a lot of places in the world!
We love this restaurant & go there regularly but have seen negative comments posted.
You can only but try it for yourself after all it is only one evening out of your life & the setting is absolutely spectacular & the service is excellent.

I haven't been there but apparently the new Chinese (Myoga Far East) in the Elexus hotel is getting great reviews...the do a set menu I think including drink

Was at Chinese House on Thursday took friends with us, all loved it, we go every 2/3 weeks and always take our UK guests there

We were there Thursday as well what an excellent meal & they had my favourite wine back in stock!
We were going to try the Chinese at the Elexus but it is closed Thursdays.

Thanks for the reviews on the Chinese House, think we must add to our list of places to try.
Can anyone give a feel for menu selection and cost please. Plus any recommended dishes? Location?

I also see the chinese at the ELEXUS seems to be another place to try.....again any more information would be appreciated. Is it a set menu, or buffet? What drinks are included, presume local, one glass or a few? Cost?
