recommendations for a restaurant that has TENDER grilled steaks? I'm from the Midwest in the USA... and we do have the best beef - which I am missing!

Not Lefkosa but Erols in Ozankoy and ask for the King Size T-Bone. It's a monster but delicious.

Where is fast food butchers? Love a nice piece of steak.

Not a restaurant but the best steak available is from Wellgoods shop in Nicosia south side. They have Aberdeen Angus, usually ribeye and fillet. Buy a whole joint and cut it up and freeze it. Most of their steak is either Australian or American. Our choice is Australian. They get it in chilled, not frozen.

Is this Wellgoods on the Turkish side or Greek side of Nicosia?

Greek side. To my knowledge there is no imported beef in the north. Wellgoods are within 10 minutes of the Metehan border so not far to go.

There's certainly no need to go to Lefkoşa for a good steak - Kemal at Carpenters Restaurant will cook you a properly aged steak cooked exactly as you request it.

I'm not going to tell you where it is though, because if I do that, then the next time that I go there, it will be full of Expats!

Maybe the original poster enquired about Lefkosa because that is where he/she is staying and doesn't want the hassle of travelling. The only Carpenter's I know of is in Karaoglanoglu, 0548 891 3792, but that may not be the one referred to above.

Alpha mega sell Australian Aberdeen angus beef about 13 euros a kilo

Went to carpenters tonight,had the T bone which was ok but the drinks 13 TL for a bottle of Tuborg and 8 TL for a litre bottle of water,certainly won't go back there.

We also went to Carpenters last nite ,
I had a T bone which was poor & the first 3 bites where grissle .
Mate had a lovely fillet . But u mention the beer 13 , the Baileys creme 25 tl , vodka 25 tl which I think is crazy , that's like beside the Ned prices in a 5?star hotel , I think he should take the Y bone off the menu & just do the fillet , it's the second time I've been & had T bone , no more chances from me I'm afraid .

Kibet steakhouse. Theres one in kyrenia to. They are first burchers . The only downside is they dont serve alcohol!
