Surely a landlord would be mad not to ask for a deposit you have very high expectations!

I can pay a deposit one month ahead but not for 2 or 3 month like sometimes landlords asking.

Agreed. Having had problems before i would not look at anything less than 1 month rent in advance and 1 month deposit with glowing references from previous landlords.

Jonnie,North Cyprus is very smal island! Everyone knows each other) There is no sense to not pay for a flat or lie or whatever! There is no where you can hide yourself!
We have reference from other landlord
So if you have anything for rent let me know please.

It still goes on. 1 month rent deposit will not cover a £1000 electric bill nor will it cover the 2 years it takes to get people out. My last tenants took the keys and the house took 2 people 3 days to clean. I was away when they left and left the deposit with a property agent, the tenants told the agents I had said everything was ok with the house and the agents gave them the money.

Sorry Maggie, it may be a small island but anyone who expects to rent or who rents out without a substantial deposit needs their head examined.
