Can anyone tell me please, can a person named as a beneficiary in a will also be executor of that will?

The lady at CAB was very helpful and explained about probate etc they can draw up a will and go to the court with you and its £100 less than my solicitor quoted.

Just make sure that no one named as a beneficiary in your will acts as a witness to your signature. Executors are fine, beneficiaries are not.

If you are drawing up a will here then it is best to have just one beneficiary who you can trust to sort out your estate as you want because if you have more than one then they all have to attend,(that is what we were told) which can be very difficult to arrange (well it would have been for us as there are 7 children to share it so we nominated one who will then divide up the revenue between all 7.) She has our instruction as to how we want it done, so there's no argument.
