house deposit

after having lost £152000 on a solicitors hacked email account which i am sure a lot of you have read on the front page of cyprus news weekly we have now found that because of no fault of our own the uk couple who were selling the house to us want to keep our deposit,it is unbelievable how some people in this world and i mean swallows who have property in the uk and 2 houses in ozankoy can be so evil as to kick a couple while they are down,i will not rest until i get what is mine back mr and mrs (name removed by mod...please refer to forum rules)

I sympathize with your plight but arn't deposits non-refundable ?

I really feel sorry for you Carlee re deposit, where is a bit of human kindness, never mind able refundable etc. After all you have had to put up with I often wonder whether people (some) have no conscience. I wish you better luck in future.

Was the deposit with the seller or with an estate agent. when we bought in 2008, the agents made it clear that the deposit was no-refundable unless the seller pulled out, If the buyer pulls out then the deposit is used to compensate the estate agent for buyers wasting there time.
So the question is who is refusing to return the deposit?

no the agreement is that if the buyer cannot complete on the purchase bcos of circumstances beyond there control the deposit is refundable but this woman fought tooth and nail to get all the deposit but hey-ho karma will win,and thanks to those of you who wish us well,we have lost everything but we have each other,
