Anyone lost a young dog?

There is a young, black dog running around near the main road turn off to the Malpas Hotel. We think his owner may have a Susuki Vitara (white) as he chased over to our vehicle as if he recognised it, and tried to get in through a window. Our dogs were inside our vehicle. I wasn't there but my husband said the dog was wearing a blue collar and had been well-looked after. He considered bringing it home but where do you stop? We would have had 50 dogs by now if we brought home all the darling strays we have seen over the years. I hope this is a genuinely lost dog and someone knows the owner.
