Are you joking? Do we not have enough problems here looking after our cats and dogs?

Many moons ago, in the UK, my kind but misguided father was given a 'pet' monkey, Jacko. He was cute but not at all happy to be the centre of attention or to being domesticated.

They are sensitive creatures who need specialist care, not party pieces to laugh at and 'impress' the guests at your saturday barbecues and suchlike.

Leave the poor little souls where they belong.
Remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

Hear, hear, blue butterfly well said and they can become very aggressive when stressed. Please 'Cypriot', plenty of lovely cats and dogs at Kar in need of love and attention.

I'm sure you are thinking in terms of a "pet" monkey because they are different, they are novel, they are a talking point BUT they are not babies for long. I'm involved with KAR and obviously I push the organisation as much as possible and you have probably discarded the idea of a cat or dog. However I BEG YOU don't even think about it. I notice you say "baby" but they don't stay babies for long and if not handled and treated properly they become, bored, aggressive, and completely anti-social and can have diseases which are difficult and then they need a special diet. They can't be trusted with children who they look a upon as rivals for your affection and people will be very loathe to look after them when you are away.

Having said all that I feel sure someone will come on to the forum and say "We've had one for 15 years and he's part of the family" and if they do, then they are very fortunate.

Leave the poor devils in the wild, where they belong! Ridiculous!
