Hi all, The two girls on the Hope 4 pets group who have been working so very hard down at the compound and tip are so very much in need of help and support with all the hard work every day,,

They go together each day to feed and clean these dogs many new dogs and pups turning up all the time, and then the heartbreak of fining a pup dead on arrival in the morning,,This is not easy work, And it would be wonderful if with many helpers some might even get the joy of going off for a walk each day, What a dream !

We have had so many donation of food and bedding fixing fencing and offers of help to get the compound ready for the winter rains,

Please even if you just visit for a holiday these girls and these dogs ,pups down at the compound need any help that is offered,

These girls need all the praise and encouragement
The group had another meeting last Thursday , we now have 4 pups in foster care with 2 going off to the UK when ready, We also have some kittens that are just a few days old, the Mother cat was killed and these have now found help,

Great work, and together we will make a difference ,

Thanks, Spider, X
Lets be nice to each other and help make this world a better place to live.

Forgive me for what may seem to be a siloy question , but surely thyey can find people in ~Famagusta to help them. Thousands of students will be back any day, so can't they approach the Uni, and the Students Union etc to find folk to help. And can't the municipality put out an appeal. Sorry if I sound like a wet blanket, but there is so much help needed in Kyrenia - did you know that there are 50 puppies awaiting adoption at Arapkoy in the KAR Kennells plus more than a couple of hundred dogs plus some cats, all of which need feeding, and of course KAR is working with the Municipality. Can't the girls over at Famagusta form a better relationship with the munjicipality which obviously needs help big time.

So shoot me, but I do feel that all that petrol money to get to Famagusta could be better spent elsewhere, BUT HAVING SAID THAT PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ANYONE AT FAMAGUSTA/ISKELE/BOGAZ ETC PLEASE ANSWER THIS CALL. I KNOW there are folk who care for the cats at Bogaz, so hopefully there are some folk who will try to continue what BARK started a few years ago, and that is to encourage the municipality to tackle the problem and accept help from outsiders.

~Sorry Spider if I seem to have hijacked your posting, but I feel that there MUST be people at Famagusta who can help0. Let's hope they read KibKom - but maybe no9tices around the Uni wil have a much greater effect.

One assumes there are members on here who live in the Famagusta/Iskele/Bogaz etc area Marion so why are you assuming the post was directed at people who live in Kyrenia?
Surely even people who might live in the Kyrenia or surrounding areas might just take a trip to Famagusta and whilst doing so pop in to help?
The idea of students is a great one....do the GAU help at KAR?
This type of post alerts people to the good work these ladies are doing as as this is quite new, all publicity is good publicity.

Thank you carrierbag for your comment We all live on a tiny Island in a very small community in the TRNC on a minuscule planet called by us Earth. If we can all help towards a greater life for others (black, white, fur, finned or feathered ), be it in Famagusta, Girne, Larnaca, Limassol, Lima or Lemar ! then we will all reap rewards and contentment within. <3

On the point of the GAU I am sorry I do not know.

gau DO GO TO aRAPKOY FORM TIME TO TIME AND I KNOW WOULD LOVE TO BE MORE INVOLVE,D BUT I BELIEVE THE BIG PROBLEM IS TRANPSORT. wHEN THINKING OF emu AT fAMAGUST,A IT IS ALL SO MUCH NEARER TO EVETRYTHING, AND SO STUDENTS OCULD POSSIBLY WLAK TO WHEVEREVER IS NEEDED. (sorry, caps stuck again, growl, growl).

I am sure tha tin the past some students from EMU were connected with BARK, and as they have good heart,s that could be a really good source of help, and on the doorstep.

It is such a shame that Arapkoy is so far out of town. I find it takes me ages in a car, and impossible for anyone without transport. A loss for KAR, but nothing to be done.

This is a small island, but lots of pockets where help is needed. Reminds me of an old Sunday School chorus which I learned when I was three ' you in your small corner and I in mine' referring to our 'shining' in life. Hopefully there wil be plenty of students and others at Famagusta who are prepared to 'shine' to help all those in nee,d regardless of the number of legs they have.

An update on this.l I wil be writing the full story in next week's KibKom Times but for now this is to let you know that the team of girls at Famagusta have now formed a group called Pati Paws. Do take a look at their Facebook page . They are going great guns but of course need all the support they can get - especially items of food, blankets etc etc to make the lives of the dogs in the compound more comfortable and also - well read all about it on the Facebook page.
