Yet another little fella has turned up on our catalkoy shops doorstep and adopted our girl in the shop,he looks young,maybe around 2 years old and has a plastic tag attached to his ear. He has slept outside our shop for the last 3 or 4 nights waiting for his breakfast and our girl to open the shop.

Again same as the last one,he is a lovely dog and sadly i cannot share a house with a dog because of an allergy to dog hairs.
Why do these pet owners dump a beautiful pet that looks like he has been well cared for in the past.

Is the tag in the ear red and does it have a number on if so the dog is a kar animal so I would give them a call.

Yes KAR did tag him and they would of released him back into the catalkoy area and they said he has found your girl because she feeds him.
That is basically all they had to tell me at the moment as the area dog warden is not in the office yet !

Not an expert on dogs but looks older the 2 years. Also not one hundred per cent sure of the tagging. but my street dog "Tag" was done in 2005 and she was 007. On that basis I would say it was older! Do hope Stellastar and I between us can keep this bttt!!!

KAR did say he was not an old dog.But did not say his age.

We are estimating his age from his playfulness,but he could be older as i am not a pro when it comes to dogs ages

If it helps, I am 55 and still quite playful.

KAR picked him up this morning because we told them that where he had his operation it was weeping a little,they said they shall release him near to malpas hotel as that is where he was originally found.

Give him a day and he will find the shop again,he has been sleeping outside on the mat for the last week. Seems to like his bed N breakfast !

A Little more news.

KAR came back to tell us that our new stray dog shall be kept in KAR kennels for a week as he does have an infection in his wound where he had the operation and needs a course of anti biotic s

Great news for him,but sadly when he is better he will be back out on the streets

Come on some one, can't you give this guy a loving home? I am sure he is quite older than you think!!!

I am most tempted its a lovely dog I saw it this week and it just wanted to get in the car and come home ! Is the dog at KAR now ?

Hi Mr A.

"Little Boy" as our girl in the shop calls him is currently at KAR convelesing which makes us very happy.

We noticed him licking his scar very often and after a closer look we saw some infection.

Thanks KAR for acting quickly and collecting him and taking him to the VET and treating him.

Any up to date news from KAR?

I would imagine "Little Boy" is enjoying the rest and comfortable bed he has at the moment,we shall await his return to outside the shop at the end of this week !

Little boy has not returned as he is still in KAR getting better,the infection he had where the operation was carried out was very infected we are told,so he is still being looked after by KAR.

We have a pub and we raise quite a bit of money for our local kids hospice .
We have customers bringing their old books in and then others buy them by putting a donation in the collection box.
It is amazing how much it brings in for the charity.(about £280 a month) It costs nothing and people get a bargain book!!
We now have 3 book shelves and a lot of happy customers.

Not sure of the legality of selling raffle ticket, unless a registered Charity! Maybe a legal eagle can answer that?

An update on little boy

Our girl in the catalkoy shop just spoke with the doctor at KAR and the dog has made a great recovery and sadly will be put back out on the streets again very soon.

Little boy has not come back to the shop yet and i am not sure if he has been released .

We are hoping that he may of found a new home and yes we do live in hope !!

what a lovely little fella he is ,to see him today it was like he felt he was back home outside the shop,he looks so happy with himself and maybe he knows chicken is on the menu again tonight,it is not the ideal place with having such a busy fast road in front of the shop !

Is he still camped out there, sleeping bag and tent?

No doubt he'll visit the Saturday Market at Lemar like he did last week,,, got fed two tins of dog food raw chicken and water.... stayed all day and was very friendly

He had a breakfast of chicken livers and pasta this morning.

He slept all night on the mat outside the shop.

Will you be getting any more good priced Carling in please.

Little boy does bring a smile to my face,he is very territorial and already thinks he owns the car park.


He just had a breakfast of pasta,rice and sausages and half a litre of water,no doubt he is relaxing in the sunshine right now !

Strangely enough since the rains came little boy has not been around,fingers crossed he is camped out somewhere nice and dry with some food available.

Well i hope he has found some one to live with as little boy is still away from the shop.

Now at the pia bella roundabout there is maybe 8 or 10 dogs maybe more who have joined together and have pack temperament or that is how it looked to me when i passed there yesterday evening.

They where all sat in the centre of the roundabout barking quite madly at the passing traffic,to some one a little afraid of dogs IMHO could be very very scary,i feel it could be a sad end for those animals in that pack.

The dogs at the roundabout you describe are known as "the roundabout dgs" ther live in the area all the time and most are fed by the local cafes in the evening or when cafes are closing. People look out for them and are not a "pack" in a derogatory manner, rather, a group of dogs who live there all the time. Yes, they bark at traffic sometimes, but please just ignore them. If you complain to the authorities they will probably be put down, and why should they be, just because they don't have proper homes to to go to?

I have been driving past the roundabout at Tango to buddha for the last 5 years and have never noticed them until yesterday,i shall not be complaining as that is not in my nature,i found it strange to see such a large pack of dogs together as i have not seen it before.
Lets hope that the traffic island can carry on being their home.

They are normally found on the grassed strip out side Manipenni and Shooters, that is why you haven't seen them on the roundabout. Never seen them causing any trouble.
