Pet Cooling Mats
Hi
Does anyone know if these can be bought anywhere in Cyprus and if not, does anyone have a spare 1 kg allowance who is coming over from UK soon?
I have two elderly cats who are struggling a bit with the heat and thought these might help, would order online and have them delivered if anyone is willing and/or able to bring them over for us?
Many thanks either way.

Hi Moyra
Sorry cannot help you with the mats but there are some ideas on this web site for keeping them cool.

As some of my cats used to love sleeping in the airing cupboard & one would snuggle under the duvet near my feet all night it seems they can tolerate quite a lot of heat, this was in UK though!
Good luck

I haven't seen them for sale out here but they do have a selection at several pet shops in Istanbul. Petza will ship out here and it could be with you in a few days.

Have you by any chance got one of those scarves filled with corn, that you put in the microwave to heat up and they hot for a couple of hours. If so then do everything in reverse, stick it in a plastic bag and put in freezer for a few hours. It won't stay frozen for hours on end, but it might help.

Re: Pet Cooling Mats
they have a good selection on ebay there is one in particular that can be used as a back rest or seat pad for humans. it would be suitable for a small dog or cat and is under £5 with free postage from china which can take about 4 weeks to arrive. i find the only problem i have with post is when it comes from the uk. hope this helps

Re: Pet Cooling Mats
@Denise13 - the one which can be used as a back rest or seat pad for humans is actually filled with liquid and is a rather attractive material for kitty claws, ended up with quite a mess with the one we had. The gel filled coolers have proved far more effective and are only slightly more expensive from EU/US (haven't seen any Chinese versions available). The cooling coats are also brilliant, and they do come in cat sizes too (although designed for very small dogs, they do fit).

Thank you all so much for your suggestions, much appreciated. Can't believe that you can't buy them here when it's so hot!

Some great ideas on here, might try them for my little dog. Thank you, although he seems to find his favourite spots and has been ok so far.

A friend ordered from petza just recently, and they appear to be in stock at the moment. If there is no shipping option to Cyprus showing I can contact them for you if needed, also have a discount code somewhere you're more than welcome to. PM me if you do decide to order and I'll dig it out of my e-mail.Mozgor wrote:Sadly, Petza don't appear to sell them!allytt wrote:I haven't seen them for sale out here but they do have a selection at several pet shops in Istanbul. Hi again
That's weird, my husband, who is Turkish and I both looked through Petza and couldn't see any cool mats!?
No problems now, friends of ours who were in UK have very kindly brought two back for the cats, so fingers crossed they will actually use them!
