Owl Lady here is Poppy

This is her all better now. Her skin and fur is almost 100% how it should be. She is very timid and hand shy, she was seen to have been beaten by a foreman on a work site near to where I live, whilst walking on the beach an English couple stopped me and asked if I had rescued the puppy, I told them I took her to get her better but I am looking to home her, turns out that they knew this puppy and has witnessed the beating, they were leaving her food and water but that's all they could do as swallows. She has had the blood test for Lesh and she is clear, I have also had her wormed and all of her first injections have been done. She is great around other dogs, frightened of cats, and pees herself when strangers approach, with plenty of love and security I am sure this will stop, I cant potty train her in the house as I have to keep her outside, but she is doing her business on the lead. She has a lovely nature considering what she has been through, the vet estimates her to be around 4 months old. She is walking well on the lead, and walks by your side off the lead. If there is anyone that can give Poppy a caring home then please give me a pm.

No news yet I'm afraid. The pm asked where I lived, and said that he could provide a home for Poppy. I replied with where I lived as a pm but its still in the outbox so I also emailed. Just hoping it wasn't a spur of the moment message and they really want to meet her.

Frontalman, I know they look happy together and they are, but I have a 3rd dog, and as I am on my own, I am struggling, I also look after 20 plus cats. I live in a bungalow as well, so 3 dogs just wont work, and its not fair to keep the other 2 indoors and keep Poppy out.

Owl Lady, I am wondering what has happened to him as well. Perhaps it was a rush post and he has changed his mind, if that is the case and you are reading this David can you let me know please. Thanks

Keep hoping Lor, you know we will help in any way we can. Rosie (Little Bambi look alike) goes home on Friday evening when her Mum and Dad get back from England, so numbers will go down!

Nothing at all Owl Lday. The pm reply is still in my outbox, so that, I take to mean he hasn't read it, I also replied via kibkom through email but I wouldn't know if he has read that or not. I am hoping that he has lost his internet or there is some other problem and that it wasn't a cruel joke.
If I haven't heard anything by the weekend, I will get some posters printed and put up, as much as I would like to keep her it just isn't practical, but I brought it on myself

David has read my reply to his pm, as it has gone out of my outbox, but he still hasn't been back in touch. So i take it that means he isn't interested in her. Why tell me he wants to rehome her if that was never his intention.
Owl Lady, mostly its the walking that is getting to me, I cant manage the 3 of them on leads, so the 2 youngest go together and my old shitzu goes separately, I have a sore hip and knee so all the walking isn't helping. Poppy is coming along really well, she still cowers when I lift a hand to stroke her, she is doing her business on the lead even though she has plenty of toilet area where I am keeping her. She will give me a paw, she knows a raised finger and no means naughty poppy Her personality is very sweet, and she loves cuddles. I realise that the predicament that I am in is my own doing, but I just couldn't walk by and leave her to what would have been a cruel and horrible fate, after getting to know her the past couple of weeks, I know that I made the right choice.

I doubt it Owl Lady, there are far too many looking for homes, there just isn't enough people that can offer one. I think she will become another addition to our family, that decision will be made by my husband when he comes home in a few weeks time. He isn't best pleased that I took her on in the beginning, but hey ho, he will forgive me I am sure

One of my friends is like you, takes on all the lame ducks (well not exactly) she has two dogs a Neapolitan Mastiff the size of a young horse and a Labrador.4 cats(2 of them rescued here) 4 birds,4 tortoise and a turtle.(and a partridge in a pear tree!)when ever a new creature appears, her husband says "It goes, or I do!" she smiles sweetly at him and says "don't make me choose" it works every time!

My friends met her again last night, after seeing her a couple of days after I picked her they cant believe the change in her attitude and appearance. After seeing how she responded to the males in the party (It was men that hit her) I have decided to keep Poppy, my husband also agrees. I don't want to trust anyone else with her, she is such a timid fragile creature, that I think it would be unfair to trust her to a stranger.
So, Owl Lady, thanks for your BTTs and encouragement, I am happy to say that Poppy has found her forever home.

No Owl Lady, he's a very timid guy!! so they should bond very well. She is such a lovely natured dog, I couldn't not keep her. I am going to throw my energies into helping out as much as I can for the dogs and cats that are living in the dumps/tips etc. with the Hope for Cyprus pets crew. Hopefully that will keep me busy and focused so that I wont pick up another waif and stray, hubby said if I do, I will be living in the dumps/tips with them
