dog tied up in Ozankoy

Hi!

Has anyone come across an Alsation/German Shepherd tied up on a very short lead in the blazing sun in Ozankoy...down the road from Erol's?
I shouted from the car at the lady in the house to please move the dog as it was in the blazing sun..clearly emaciated and without water.
It is underweight and this is clearly cruel.

WHY?......Can't anything be done? I'm sure I heard someone mentioning it at Erol's at the weekend...

These people make me sick. I'd like to sit their lazy backsides in the blazing sun without water.
I can't stand it.

The wild dogs are so much happier than this...and less of a threat too as they are not mistreated.

Whilst I admire your concern nothing will get done!! Life here for most animals is pure hell.

Agree with previous comment - cut it lose better life for it... makes me so angry.

Why have a dog then keep it on a chain.

Have you tried speaking to the owner? Maybe they could do with some friendly advice on how to make the dog's life better. Can't see you getting much joy out of complaining.

If I could remember the way back to my house via that one I would throw food /ice lollies out of the window as I drove past.
I'm pigging useless at navigation and am now paying for it.

I have thought about cutting the chain at night.

Can anyone direct Jazzdolly again? Would KAR be able to talk to the owners, I bet it isn't micro chipped?

Hi, I have also posted this on Hope 4 Pets North Cyprus.

Jazzdolly you must go and talk to the Muktar or Mayor of Ozankoy.

If this doesn't work we need a plan B. If you are not able to do it please share the location of the dog.

This can be dealt with it we all make a noise.

Two suggestions to help this poor dog.

-offer to buy the dog from the owner and then re-home it.

- if the owner doesn't want to sell the dog -purchase a kennel.

I'm sure lots of people would be happy to help with the finances - me for one.

Good luck.

Good to have suggestions Art but I think your 2nd suggestion re kennel is the best. I would give a donation too. Please don't offer to buy the dog as the owners will just replace it with another one and it's back to square one.

The dog is actually in a cage with either no door or its open, the roof is metal, the floor concrete. I expect the owners feel they have given him shelter not realising the roof would increase the temperature under it. As 3 sides are metal squares it offers no protection against the wind and rain. The concrete floor maybe easy to wash but not having a kennel or a board in the cage it is hard for him to generate body heat. All it would take to make this chap a little more comfortable is a blanket over the roof and down the side facing south, a wooden board large enough for him to sleep on and a longer chain so he can get fully outside to go to the toilet. Our strays love to sleep on the sand pile in the garden and they have duvets and a basket!

I live very near to where this dog is chained up and share your concerns but I beg you, do not cut him loose.

He has escaped on a number of occasions and apart from being a dedicated cat killer he is also very aggressive, without provocation, towards other dogs and people, once attacking an elderly lady who, thanks to my husbands intervention, escaped shaken but unhurt.

My TC husband has on numerous occasions had words with these people,[she is Cypriot and her husband turkish] to no avail, as far as they are concerned the dog is well looked after and ''everyone should mind their own business''.
