Urgent Home Needed or Foster home
ONL
I urgently need to find suitable, loving homes for Fric and Frac. Their owner has ceased employment at short notice on Friday and will have to leave the island shortly. Unfortunately he is unable to take all his dogs with him as he does not have sufficient room back home.
Fric and Frac were born Jan 23, 2013. They are half Rottweiler and half Mastiff. They have not been out from the yard very much and as such they are very shy but very friendly and house-trained.
Their official names are Fric (female) and Frac (male) - the real names are Little Whiner and Bruiser.
They are fully vaccinated with full medical records.
Anyone interested in providing a home for either of these lovely dogs please in box me for any further information and my telephone number.

ONLY A FEW DAYS LEFT TO FIND A HOME FOR THIS LOVELY PAIR CAN ANYONE HELP EITHER TO FOSTER OR ADOPT

Jack - if you're on Facebook, look for Hope4Pets North Cyprus - they've managed to get a lot of dogs adopted or fostered. Here's the link:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/8573912 ... 3/?fref=nf
If you're not on FB, let me know and I'll post on there for you, in the hope that at least these two dogs get fostered in the interim.

I have moved it to Pets, and maybe have duplicated thing.s Not to worry, I will delete, but what I did want to say was that Ihope you find homes for these two. I have been following it on Facebook, And always remember every time there is a posting or a comment, then it will come up under 'View New Posts' (which I use all the time) so although it ist is in one section, it means that anyone taking a look to see what is new will read it.
So the moral of the story is, keep the thread in the limelight.
Good luck.

Re: Urgent Home Needed or Foster home
The two beautiful dogs, Fric and Frac have been bosom buddies all their lives. Through no fault of their own they are Very soon to be homeless! Their size and breed goes against them for the majority of people but there are others who may be both knowledgeable and experienced enough to help them both Can we find one such person or family? Their plight is desperate and so is their owner! Please, on behalf of these two shy, housetrained, fully inoculated and with a full medical history best mates is there someone? They cannot ask but can and will give love, trust and loyalty to whoever will help them and rehome them.
Thank you for reading this, if you cannot help them personally maybe you know of someone who can?

As a last resort if homes cannot be found by tomorrow evening, can anyone suggest any kennels in Girne or nearby that we can house the dogs until homes can be found for them? How much would it cost?

I believe that Margaret Ray looks after dogs Lapta way, but I don't know her number, Maria Chappall takes in dogs, Petline is a vet with knennels, Kaplica kennels is a bit of a drive but they have kennels, that's all I know of

Re: Urgent Home Needed or Foster home
I cannot begin to explain the stress, lack of sleep and disappointment I have experienced in being unable to house them. The Kennels where they are currently staying rang me today to say that they have never seen so shy/scared dogs for their breed. They were left to run around the yard for a while. However, it took over 2 1/2 hours to to re-capture them. The dogs were physically trembling with fear and had the saddest eyes. They are now being kept in their pens only being left out for walks with leads on. On October 10th the dogs will be coming back to Girne and I will need to find homes for them. The landlord of the property where they had been staying has taken back the property and so the dogs will become homeless if a home cannot be found. Please note I am only the messenger, so please don't shoot me. I have been actively searching for new homes for 6 weeks now. With the help of donations I have managed to keep them off the street so far but this cannot be sustained. For the welfare of the dogs they need new homes and loving owners. I was quoted £8 a day per dog to put them in Kennels in Girne. If anyone would like to take on the dogs I have had offers to help with the cost of feeding and walking the dogs. Please contact 0533 8822740 before it is too late for these dogs.

Hi Jack the above is from the lady who runs hope for pets, she also runs her own business looking after other peoples animals, I have been told its 5 pounds per day and you provide the food. Perhaps when Fric and Frac have to leave Kaplica Spoder will be able to help you out for a while, especially when you said that food and cash will be donated to you to help them out. I think if you search Home from Home you might find more information. Hope this helps in some way.

Re: Urgent Home Needed or Foster home
Still no one has come forward to take the dogs on. A number of groups/organisations suggested I take them to Malatya, Alsancak Kennels. The owner of the kennels is coming to visit the dogs tomorrow Friday to see if they are suitable as all the other dogs at the kennels are small and could be disturbed by having a large breed move in with them. The cost is £8 per dog and funding is very little. I have asked the dog's owner to help with the cost's. I have been made aware that a difficult decision may have to be made if funding is not adequate. The stress is getting to me.

These dogs seem to only have one alternative to being put out onto the street and that is to be put be put down. This really disturbs me.

Re: Urgent Home Needed or Foster home
It must be difficult as it sounds as if these poor dogs will need quite a while to learn to be comfortable with people - poor things.
If we donate to the gofundme on Hope 4 Pets - how will the money get to the dogs as it is an account in England isn't it ? Also will all of the money go to these 2 dogs or will some be lost in bank charges or something ? Difficult for people in England to get the money directly here.
Maybe the boarding kennels has their own bank account where donations for their keep could be paid.

1) ljarvo -
I have been quoted between £6 – 8 a night in the Girne area including food. K9 charges 25TL per dog a night all inclusive but is far from where I live and therefore will prove difficult for showing the dogs to prospective new owners. I have previously received a donation from the UK via Hope 4 Pets North Cyprus but you must tell them it is for Fric and Frac.
2) Owl Lady -
I am hoping to go to K9 today to visit the dogs. I will PM you Carole.
3) Sally4670 -
Yes the dogs will need time to adjust to new owners as they are very shy.
I have previously received a donation from the UK via Hope 4 Pets North Cyprus but you must tell them it is for Fric and Frac. The donator sent £125 and I received 450TL from Hope 4 Pets which would appear to be the full amount.
I will ask the kennels if this is possible too.
4) I have agreed to have a telephone interview with Can Gazi from Bayrak Radio Int. It will be broadcast on his live show between 2 - 4 today. I have also written an article for KibKom Times due to be published next week.

Re: Urgent Home Needed or Foster home
in reply to ljarvo I don't know. I just know that the lady who runs hope for pets runs home from home a guest house for dogs, so I just thought that maybe she would give Fric and Frac a break. After all people are paying money to help Fric and Frac and its great publicity for hope for pets. Don't know why she hasn't offered

Tyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ljarvo and Owl Lady for your kind donations to Fric and Frac's cause. They are all very much appreciated. Everything little thing helps. I am committed to helping these dogs to a second chance at life. No dog deserves to be left on the street or be put down because they are afraid. I have seen how in the right hands and with a show of affection that these dogs would make lovely pets for the right persons.
I went to see them this afternoon and they were playfully running around in their pen. It was good to see them approach me for the first time. I think they have realised I am a good guy or maybe it was feeding time lol.

Delighted to meet you Blue eyes and give a bit of help. Please keep us informed as to what is happening. Glad they are no longer in kennels, as I am sure they need human company to integrate into family life. Lets hope they achieve their for ever home soon. They will miss their mum when she has to leave.

They will be staying with their mother for yet another night due to another glitch from the company transferring her to Dominica. Don't know whether to laugh or cry but at least they get to spend another day together. I am glad to say they are all eating well from the evidence left on the floor. I am looking at new kennels once their mother finally leaves. If I can get a couple of training sessions for them to become more familiar with people that will all help put them in good stead. Many thanks again.

Latest Update: Krull, the mother of Fric and Frac set off for Dominica this afternoon. Somehow I think they knew it was goodbye as I could hear them crying until I drove out of range. It is time to concentrate once more on finding them homes.

I found one in Catalkoy (which is very close to where I love) for £10 a day (for both dogs) + I provide food but the lady is going away for a couple of weeks which would mean moving them again, which I would rather not.
I also found another in Lefkosa which charged £8 per dog which included food. I can only get to that one at the weekend as it is too late after work.

Our names are Fric and Frac,
Our Mother and Owner have gone,
Now there is no turning back,
We are now on our own.
Can you Adopt or Foster,
Our friends are willing to donate,
Can you home me or my sister,
But please don’t leave it too late.
Please excuse my grammar.
On a serious note, although in an ideal world they would be kept together, I am open to them being separated if 2 loving owners came forward.

Fric and Frac were told at very short notice that they had to vacate their premises. They are now staying at Petline in Catalkoy. The kennels are run by a vet and he is aware that the dogs will be staying there until forever homes can be found. Hopefully there will be no more moving around. He recommended that Frac was castrated in the best interests of all and so I have booked him in for his snip next week. The vet has said that visitors and dog walkers are welcomed. The dogs are in the pen beside the entrance to the vets and so can be seen from outside.

I popped into to visit Fric and Frac this afternoon. Frac was just coming around from his operation. So my daughter and I took Fric for a walk. I left my daughter to it. She found Fric very easy to handle. We later took Frac for a walk around the garden. His operation had gone well without any issues. I stayed until they were going inside for the night. I was pleasantly suprised to see when the Vet opened their pen they walked to their kennels without any fuss. They have really come on a long way in a very short time. Although when asked by the Vet could they be seperated, he felt that they were too attached to one another and would have to wait a couple of weeks at least before that could happen.

Re: Urgent Home Needed or Foster home
Yesterday I went with BlueEyes to see these two dogs, Yes they are BIG, but so very GENTLE. Remember it was the first time we had met and at first they were obviously nervous. After about 10/15 minutes Fric came towards me to accept a biscuit and a stroke, then I got a lick. Frac was a bit more hesitant, then he had a biscuit and I got a lick from him as well. We went for a short walk and they were reasonably well behaved on the lead, but insisted in trying to stick to each other like glue. I do feel that it would be very difficult to separate them at this stage as they obviously love each other so much. Also remember they have just lost their Mum and their home. Please can someone consider giving them a forever home. It is also amazing to think, that at one point the place where they were being kennelled, even suggested that they would NEVER integrate into family life and should be put to sleep!!!PLEASE,PLEASE HELP THEM.
