NOT free neutering by hope 4 pets

Nothing lost in translation. The 2 named vets did not say they would neuter for free. They will do the same as Kar and Petcross, by a voucher and get a discount. Hope for Pets chairperson has claimed on their webpage and facebook page that is free. That was never agreed to by these vets who have been inundated with calls from the public.
I suggest Hope for Pets you get your facts straight before you publish something world wide. Tell people that you hope to have enough donations to cover the cost of all the operations with help from the Beledeysi,

I have had a call from the owner of Garfield vets,Fuat,regarding Maria Vic going into his practice and asking if he could neuter the stray cats/dogs free of charge,as they are homed and also if Fuat was to refuse to do it,Maria Vic had threatened to spread bad rumours and help losing him customers...........Maria Vic has now added Garfield vet practice on the list of vets without his consent,even though,Fuat at Garfields had explained that,he will not do it for free.
It should not be that simple to interfere with someone's bussiness and he'd appriciate if his name were to be taken off the list as it was put up without his consent.

It has also been stated by the other vet that there is NOT a free neutering but that Maria has offered ot pay a monthly bill for this.
Maybe this is 'Lost in Translation' and there has been a complete misunderstanding, and sorry to hear that the vets have had their busy lives made even fuller by this misunderstanding.

Hopefully Maria will make a statement on her Hope4Pets pages (I believ e there are three) to clarify this - as obviously there is a complete misunderstanding.

Marion I was on the Committee that all resigned last night, she said categorically that SHE had achieved free neutering. Please don't attempt to say that there was a translation problem between them. You do the vets an injustice by trying to say there was a translation problem, they and Maria know the difference between free and discounted with vouchers. It is very sad that it has come to this, but the ones of us who have left the group will still carry on and do our bit either together or how we all did it before on our own. We will still help the compound at Famagusta, we went today in a convoy of 3 cars full of goodies for the girls. Famagusta was for me personally where hope began, and if the 5 of us can carry helping and taking donations of food, etc, we will and meet up once or twice a month. When/if we get the compound here where we live then we will donate to that, the Famagusta girls have offered to help us out when and if it happens here. There is plenty I could say, but I think I have said enough on the matter.

None of us wanted it to go this way. I obviously cant say much on an open forum, the 5 of us are sad that it came the conclusion it did last night, but in all honesty we didn't have any other option. I am sure another committee will be formed they just need to disengage their brains and all will be fine

Fuat at Garfields is a great vet , his English is good enough to have asked clarification on something he didn't understand. A great shame he has been involved,through no fault of his own,in this.

What a pathetic response from the "supposedly" main person/mouth piece of this newly formed group.
I was critisized about my realistic questions on this forum about the money side of things. Now i find out that the main person/mouth piece has, supposedly, lied about what has or has not been promised, quelle surprise. Her response is pathetic ----- i think from reading between the lines that the money from the online donations (which my family donated to ) is held separately to money and donations collected in TRNC.
PLEASE can anyone connected to H4P PLEASE explain where/what donations have been made and where they have gone or are being held. There has been implied threads on H4P FB that some of donations had been withheld. Surely it is the least that you can do given that the requests for help were posted on here ( as well as other open social media and general media) - so too were offers of support that people gave .
What a shame - how has this helped the animals ? So sorry for the genuine volunteers,supporters and donators who have given time, effort, donations and heart to this cause.

You say that we are destructive, we are the ones that did all the work in Famagusta, your contribution was to make appointments and go to meetings, and for that you say we are envious. Please do not think i am trying to point fingers (unless they should be pointed) Lor or anyone else. I am so angry about what has happened and why i was so seriously critisized earlier .
There has been an awful lot of damage caused and good efforts wasted - what about the time/effort/money given by lots of people who really DID want to help (groups or individuals), All of this by the impact of 1 person or more, i don't know ?
New people to TRNC will maybe look at this and think "WTF" is going on here - who should i trust? who is telling the truth ? who should i believe? Who is helping the animals as they say they do ? It is such a shame.
I also feel sorry for the vets and other individuals and organisations who REALLY are trying to help the animals - they have enough difficulties to cope with without this - but then hey ho the response will be "tosh tosh lol" = CRAP.

Reading all of these postings I can see there is one easy answer. Everyone just please contact the named vets, Garfield and Kibris Veterinary.

Their answers to the question - Are you going to be Neutering animals for Free for the Hopes4PetsNorthCyprus group? will confirm categorically whether this is the Truth or Not the Truth.

It will answer so many questions as well !

The vets have been contacted, and they have given their stories.

1., Kibris Vet - yes, they will be neutering some animals and Maria/Hope for Pets will be paying the monthly bill.(presumably form money raised.
2. Garfield/Fuat ha s not agreed to any free neutering and has been in contact with friends stating that Maria threatened him.

It is now being said that the vets statements are 'nonsense'. I do not think the vets in question want lots of phone calls to verify their statements I wanted to get the truth to put something in KibKom Time,s and unfortunately the questions asked on Facebook hav enot been answered, except by the posting that is made about'tosh' tosh, tosh.

I have also been told that both these vets have been plagued today with phone calls enquiring abut the free neutering. That may or may not be true or may be an exaggeration, but I have been assured on investigations made by me that there is NO free neutering by these vets.

Just remember that vets are in business, and do their best to help. KAR has had a relationship with vets for cut price neutering for some considerable time and this system has worked well.

I have no axe to grind, and in spite of statement son facebook that I envy Maria and am trying to cause her harm, all I want is for truth to be upheld, and I grealty admire all the good that a few people have done over the past few weeks.

Questions need to be answered, and they are NOT being answered and this is causing some angst to some lovely people.

If what I have stated above is untrue, then give us, the public, proof that this is so.

I am now being insulted because I wish to report truth, but Iodn't mind that because to me truth is the most important thing. Caring for animals is important, but it is not right if humans are hurt in the process while tyring to be helpful.

Hope 4 Pets Get Free Neutering

The dearest wish for myself and supporters for Hope 4 Pets is to be able see free neutering becoming available so that the numbers of street animals will in time be reduced due to the drop in street animal re-population as a direct result of neutering.

The fact is that one female cat and one female dog, if not neutered, are capable of producing over 50.000 offspring in 5 years which is a mind blowing thought.

For the past weeks I have been visiting and talking to many people and organisations who whilst very sympathetic to the problem have not been able to help arrange free neutering.

Today I am delighted to announce that in discussion with veterinary clinics, Garfield in Alsancak and Kibris Veterinary Klinik in Alsancak have agreed to neuter a number of animals free of charge on the presentation of a voucher supplied by Hope For Pets which I will arrange to have printed very soon.

Professor Huriye Horoz Kaya of Kibris Vetinary Klinik in Alsancak is also helping us design a poster in Turkish that our supporters can then take to the villages to spread the word of the need to have unwanted animals neutered.

This is wonderful news and I would like to that the two veterinary surgeons for offering to help us start and develop this initiative which in time will we hope, will greatly reduce the size of the problem of unwanted animals in the TRNC.

I see we have free microchipping thrown in to the equation now, maybe as a tasty bone to distract from the original issue. KAR printed out I think maybe 5/6weeks ago , full rules and regulations to be put into place by Lapta Belediyesi when their compound was up and running and if I remember right both microchipping and inoculation were in there. If so if and when this is put into practice it surely has had nothing to do with any input from any other individual or group!
Maybe today the truth will out! Just feel sorry for the two veterinary practises that have been put in the middle of this. It is a very awkward situation for them as professional bodies but I really do hope they see fit to speak out and tell their stories.

I think it has found its way here because a vast number of Kibkom members are animal lovers, some may have seen supporters of the group in question, some may not. The public announcement made regarding the achievement of obtaining FREE Neutering and naming two veterinary practices in the local area, I think makes it a must to be on here and the questions need to be answered on here also. All people are asking for, myself included is the truth.

Are the two vets named going to be giving the Neutering procedure Free of Charge - No payment involved at all from any person or third persons! That is my definition of Free! - For Nothing!

If they are receiving any payment discounted or not, whether it be in the form of pre paid vouchers - the vets are not giving their services for free!

Don't think it is rocket science! Free or Not Free!

I am sure that there are a lot of us waiting for the answer with bated breath! Or maybe not !!!

If the payment of these Neuterings are going to be put on someones monthly account - then again this is not Free and the announcements to us, Mr & Mrs. Joe Public are totally wrong,
They give out the impression that someone has achieved something falsely and maybe it would not matter to some of us but others who try their best to help and make things better for the animals here would have every right to feel aggrieved!

To answer the money query. The Gofund was already started before h4p was up and running. The treasurer helped animals herself, and friends in the UK wanted to help.

Money donated in cash via ice bucket 826.35, Owl Lady donated 100 at an event, 100 donated from a meeting. Total 1026.35
Repo is a rescued puppy from the tip, Rey Rey took another foster dogs, Irene took a foster puppy
Repos Vet bill 75
Supplies for Famagusta 90 (this was for netting and ties etc)
Foster Pup supplies 113.95 (Aptanul, treatments)
Vet Bill 170 (Irenes pup)
Vet bill 197.35 (Reys 2 pups inc food)

The balance of 380.95 was cash in hand at the time of the meeting on Tuesday.

The treasurer was sacked and removed from the group by the chairperson almost 2 weeks ago for being disloyal. Her crime was to help the Famagusta girls to make their own page, (which had been agreed by her in a previous meeting)
The Committee didn’t think this was the right, so an Emergency meeting was called, I asked the Treasurer to attend and bring with her a resignation letter (she didn’t want to stay on as part of the group) she did this, also bringing the accounts, receipts, an envelope with the cash of 380 and GB 55 from the Gofund that people had donated for the Icebucket challenge.
She handed the money envelope to the Chairperson who threw it back and told her to keep it, the Treasurer said its not mine to keep, so she asked if the girls from Famagusta can have it towards their vet bills which are over the 1000 TL mark, the chairpersons reply was DO WHAT YOU F…..ing WANT.
So yesterday, myself and others met the girls and handed over the envelope.

905tl was raised at an event in sea angle bar. Master no name is a pup getting care and looking for a foster home, 120 TL has been paid to the vets and the balance of 785 was handed over to the chairperson at the meeting by another committee member.

I feel it necessary to defend myself and the other members that resigned. We are not envious, devious, or thieves and anything else that the Chairperson has called us publicly. She is very lucky that defamation charges, and assault charges haven’t been brought against her.

We all wanted h4p to work, the Chairperson made it impossible for us to carry on; you don’t sit in meetings to be told shut up, FO, PO. When at the last meeting she hit the husband of a resigned member, her own husband and another of her friends had to pull her away. That is when I wrote out my resignation, the others also submitted theirs. When she was handed the resignations, she ripped them up, threw them in the air, screaming you haven’t f….ing resigned I sacked all of you, I already decided this. The girls in Famagusta have had all kinds of disgusting things said to them, so has another 2 Committee members, a lot if it is in writing sent to them by the chairperson in private inboxes, email, texts etc. I could go on, but feel I have said enough.
This is the truth, not (tosh, lol, ha ha, whoop whoop)
As for the money in the gofund that will still be spent on the deserving animals, there is a small group of us, which will carry on looking after the animals and trying to re home them.

There is a simple answer to this, Lor. In any organisation the Chairperson is there by consent of the committee, not the other way around. You could call another meeting and have a vote of confidence (or not) of the Chairperson. If the vote goes against the Chairperson, they resign, simple as that. It would be a terrible shame if the good work which has been carried out, and good work which could be carried out in the future, were to be put in jeopardy by the actions of one person. The concept of Hope4pets is a great one, and hopefully the organisation structure that it deserves will be put in place very soon. After all the animals are the most important thing, not personalities.

Maybe just by my working background I was able to look at the whole picture while also looking at the individual. Something maybe you all never knew I was doing, From day one I was quietly observing everything and even through I was disappointed in what I SAW I also had the courage to face they vindictive back last my decision would bring,
