dog kennel wanted for a poor pointer

am looking for a dog kennel or something that resembles a dog shelter, doesnt have to be brilliant condition, even if a side is broken i can mend it, its for a chained up pointer who I have been looking after for 2 years now, the owner refuses to provide it with a shelter so it is chained up to the side of dog cages in all the elements. Dont want to buy a new one as anything I have previously given to the pointers ie collars blankets toys, quickly disappear, thankyou

Hi Kimi,

That's very sad and its very good you are trying to help...

It might be worth posting on Facebook Pets4northcyprus as well as it seems that the owners might need to be spoken to as if you help with anything they are taking it away.....

I have gone to kar, police, beledeyi numerous times with videos and photos over the past 2 years and nothing can be achieved for these dogs, there are 4 female pointers, the best that can be done is that I clean their cages out once a week and feed and water them twice a week. 3 dogs are in cages with wooden pallets that I put for them, they do not have shelter, the female on the chain has dug herself a hole under the side of the cage for shelter. Summer is the most difficult for these dogs as water is not available, normally, until I visit them. I have tried to rehome them, but it is very difficult to rehome any of them, even when there are 8 puppies once a year. They are really lovely sweet dogs and it is a heartbreaking situation as unlike street dogs, these pointers do not have the chance to find their own water and food, let alone a new home.

Ok thank you - that's terrible no shelter now the rain is with us.

I can make a donation to Hope4pets to at least make a contribution towards something if that helps.

Many thanks

The owner of the hunting dogs (pointers) is willing to give me all the dogs, but the problem is that I have 8 of my own so cannot take them and I dont think the chance of rehoming them is high since there are so many available. I will post some photos of each one in the hope of adoption. The current weather is very tough on them and they are very wet. The female chained up has dug herself a hole tunneling slightly underneath a pallet I gave her but there is a high chance it flooded. I made a shelter for her out of pallets and wood into a sort of kennel but she keeps being moved on her chain so she cannot reach it. This has been their life for the last 2 and half years that I have been feeding them. Other than adoption there is little chance for these dogs, the rescue centre will not accept them. There are 3 female pointers
black and white 5 year old
black and white 9 year old (sort of spotted)
cream and beige 5 year old (small)
All females are lovely, desperate to be rescued ....

the greyhound has been offered a place in a greyhound rescue in uk, he has immediate foster home I will finance his rabies and blood tests etc but I am asking for donations, however small, for his flight to get him to the uk, it will cost approx 2.3000tl - 3000tl for the flight depending on his weight gain, plus his large travel crate, we have raised considerable funds but still a way to go to reaching the final amount, any donations are gratefully received by William the greyhound, he cant wait to get to uk xx
