Once loving pets, now decaying remains on our roads

Yesterday I drove 130 kilometres round trip to see an uncle. The disturbing thing was on route I witnessed the remains of 13 Dogs, 4 Cats and 5 bodies that I could not identify. This is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to stray Cats and Dogs living on the streets. What are the Belediye's doing about removing these unfortunate remains? I am guessing some have been there days if not weeks.

My understanding is that the Bin men pick the bodies up of the poor dead animals. along with their usual collections. We live in Catalkoy and have these twice a week and have seen bodies put by the side of the road the night before.
It is so unpleasant to see and gets us very upset - cannot imagine what people think who are on holiday?
BBB's Other Half - please correct me if I am wrong.

I wonder just how many of the dogs lying by the road to picked up in Catalokoy are in reality "owned" animals which have been allowed to wander the streets rather than enclosed in a garden. I suspect that many are, and not strays at all. There's a world of difference between one and the other.
