3 pointers confiscated by the authorities for animal cruelty

Yesterday 3 pointers were seized from their owner by the police/belediye for animal cruelty offences. I have been feeding and cleaning these dogs for 2 years now and after numerous reports to the animal rescue, belediye and police over this time they have finally been confiscated. They are very emaciated, without shelter and eating their own excremement to survive. The owner was extremely aggressive and threatened to shoot both the dogs and the people involved with his gun there and then. It was a major day for animal rights in north cyprus and I must fully applaud the belediye in their attitudes and actions yesterday. Unfortunately Kar could not accept these pointers so I am looking for urgent foster homes for them. They have been through hell and they really deserve a 2nd chance. All 3 of the pointers are female, 2 approx 5 years and the other approx 9 years, they have been bred from and chronically neglected hence their bad body conditions. Until yesterday they had not left their cages/chains and though stressed, they are handling the change so well. They have never been inside a house, nor worn a collar, or eaten real dog food. They are having some difficulty walking on tiled floors but yearn for human contact. If anyone can offer 1 or more of these dogs a foster or forever home please contact me asap.
I know that there are numerous rescue dogs needing homes but for the belediye/police themselves to deem their conditions to be disgusting and enforce immediate confiscation it has got to be bad ...
1 girl has been offered immediate foster care so 2 girls are left needing temporary/permanent homes.
If you feel you have a place suitable for 1 or 2 of these pointers please contact me asap

We applaud you and everyone else that was involved in the rescue of these poor, defenceless animals.
Our quota is full with our own five dogs and fostering one more but there must be someone who can help give a chance of a normal happy and healthy life to these dogs.
This is an extreme case of neglect and cruelty and thank goodness you were able to release them from their hell hole.
If there are other ways we can help ?
BBB and Other Half.

BBB - Totally agree
This is a big milestone that the authorities supported this terrible treatment of these poor dogs.
If you read H4P on facebook you will see some great pictures - the dogs are so grateful!!
Thank you again to Kimi for never giving up

2 of these females went to foster care yesterday, leaving behind the eldest girl. She is approx 9 years old, extremely loving towards all people and craves human contact. She is currently living in an empty house that is due to have building work started imminently therefore she cannot stay there. If anyone can offer a temporary or permanent home or even would like to come and meet her please contact me asap. This is an urgent appeal for a dog sorely deserving of a 2nd chance in life. This dog has made trnc history for animal rights as being part of the first confiscation for animal cruelty, please don't give up on her now ...

Thank you Kimi for all you are doing. I really wish I could help, but we have 7, and pack issues with them, they take up all my time and nearly at wits end although love them to bits. Have had to not take a lovely old golden dog that hangs around Titanic at Kayalar. It lays in the main road sometimes, its heartbreaking but all I can do is leave food

Loobyloo that is so sad but I had a feeling it was not in a good state. I want to thank you so much for taking that trouble, it is better than the poor thing being run over or worse. It is all heartbreaking, gets to the point with me that I don't want to go out.
Hubby says have to toughen up
Thanks again for letting me know

How sad, but at least the end of this dog was with dignity!
Thihs is just to Loopy Loo to say if you want to send a p.m to anyone, you will see at the bottom of the posting an opportuynity to e mail or pm. in a small box. Click on the pm and up with come a box for you to write your message and you address it at the top with the name of the person. For instance were I writing to you, then I put your name, but if you were writing to surfmeetseast then that is what youput in the 'to' line.
HOpe that helps. Or you can e mail, - same procedure and it will go to the person's e mail account and not via the forum.
But don't give up on thing s here. There is much that is good and caring, and give thanks for those. It is the old story that 'evil prevails while good men stand by and do nothing'. Sometimes that 'something' is to allow an animal to die loved and with dignity.

Just an update on the pointers! 2 of the girls have now found their forever homes with lovely families, just the last female is still desperately looking for her forever home. Bonnie is a black and white english pointer, absolutely loves people and is good with other dogs. Up until just over a month ago she had never ever left her cage in her 6-8 years of life. She is now thriving and adapting well to 'normal' pet life in a fantastic foster home but is still waiting for someone to offer her a permanent home. Please contact me if you are at all interested in meeting Bonnie xx

If anyone on here follows facebook, the pointers plight has been supported throughout by Hope4Pets right from the very beginning starting with food and bedding donations pre-seizure and continued efforts to help me find these 3 beautiful girls foster/forever homes once they were seized by the authorities. These dogs have weighed heavily on my conscience for years and after this group started offering me support, I started to feel like something had actually been achieved for these sorely neglected girls. Hope4pets offered these girls a chance to find the emergency care they were desperate for after I got hold of them, so I am eternally grateful for this organisation and in particular 1 lovely lady who became as invested in these dogs as I am. Today I visited 'Hattie', now loved amongst her family of 9 dogs, cats and owners, was amazing to see and I hope soon I can say the same for 'Bonnie' x
