New poisoning in Catalkoy

To all my animal loving friends in the Catalkoy area. Please be aware that today my neighbour's dog bought home a tin of fish laced with poison. Oh yes, we have a good idea who gave it to him but, as ever, we could never prove it. Tonight, Oddy dog is in Pet Cross trying to survive and I must say how amazed I am that the drip he was put on had an incredible effect. I would have thought he would have died within 30 minutes or so but Pet Cross got him hooked up immediately to a drip that counteracts 80% of know poisons. I was very impressed. Seeing a beautiful boy frothing at the mouth and having convulsions is the most awful thing. Being a Sunday, it was hard to find a number to call but a friend came to the rescue and told me there was a vet at Pet Cross. My neighbour, Mary, and I took this poor dog to the vets and the vet (Barsak?) was marvellous. Tonight, this big old boy is sedated and still at the vets. His owner is abroad and it is all quite complicated but we, the neighbours, couldn't turn away and ignore the suffering of this gorgeous, friendly boy. God bless him that he will pull through .

We live along Gunes Sokak - just along from the Ani Restaurant, behind the Malpas Hotel - so please be aware that there is someone who gives dogs poison in tins. (fish tins in this case = it turns the fish blue).

So sorry to hear about Oddy,I do hope he is OK. Basak and all the staff at Petcross are wonderful and unlike some practices there is ALWAYS a vet on call 24/7 Please keep us posted, if you can.

To my dear friend, Owl Lady, thank you. It has been an awful day. Oddy dog remains at Pet Cross tonight, under sedation. I have emailed his owner and hope to hear soon. xx

Glad to hear the good news tonight from my friend, that Oddy is out of Petcross and at home. My sincere thanks to the loyal team there for saving his life.

Despite everyone's best efforts, Oddy dog passed away two weeks later. The poison had harmed him too badly internally.

As animal lovers and owners of five dogs we can honestly feel the pain of the loss of Oddy.
Also the anger and frustration of losing a much loved pet and member of the family in such a cruel way..
Sleep tight now Oddy - maybe there is help out there somewhere to get justice for you and to stop this heinous act being able to be carried out again.
There must be someone who knows who it is that puts the poison down and they should have the guts to name and shame.
Maybe they think it does not matter when it is animals that die - would they think differently if and when it is a child?

We are thinking of you Oddy's family - R.I.P. Oddy.

So, so sorry for Oddie. Play at rainbow bridge now. Vile people who put down poison, I wish you would poison yourselves, I really do......
