Beautiful golden/pointer cross looking for her forever home?

Meet Kizban, Kizzy for short. She arrived just before Christmas in a dreadful state as you can see from her pictures. The house she chose is owned by a couple that don't live here permanently, so sadly they have to find a forever home for her. She's been vaccinated, wormed and treated for fleas and ticks, she's been microchipped and will shortly be neutered. She's very good with children, comes when called, she is housetrained and has a very gentle loving nature. She's believed to be a pointer/golden cross. Can someone offer Kizban a home? Tel 0548 888 5342.

I have just received this from the lady looking after her

"About a year old the vet said. She loves other dogs, one bit her the day after we got her and she just took it, did not fight back at all."

I hope she appeals

A very sad development over the last couple of days. Poor Kizzy became unwell and was taken to the vet and has been diagnosed with a nasty illness. It may be too late to treat her and a decision will,be made next week.

Ohh... no... Have been looking at her pictures and considering having her. What stops me is finding somebody to look after a dog, if I can't be here. Can't trust anybody local. Might have solved the problem............

Thanks for your concern.

Good news, it's not Leish which was what it was thought to be initially. It appears she has Ehrilchia (http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm ... 02&aid=430) which is also a tick borne disease.

Kizzy still needs a check on her organ function to make sure no permanent damage has been done and will be on meds for 2 months, but has improved immensely since she first went on treatment and that's only been a few days!

So, in two months, when she's better, she will be looking for a permanent home.

Everything crossed for a full recovery Kizzy.

You can have your dogs tested for this disease by asking for a 4dx test, the disease is treatable, but can be fatal if not treated.

Great news for Kizzy, she hasn't got a death sentence but it would be brilliant if she can find a loving home after going through so much. I am sure her care & treatment is being funded by donations so if you can't offer a home maybe a small donation towards her care & treatment.

Hi

Thanks for asking after Kizzy, however, I have some very sad news.

I only found out yesterday that Kizzy had to be euthanised as she wasn't able to keep anything down and was losing weight rapidly. It would have been unkind to have let her suffer any longer.

I am so very sorry to read this, I know they do not take euthanasia lightly in N Cyprus so Kizzy must of been very poorly,

Sooo sorry to read about Kizzy. As Cally said unless there is no possible chance of helping, no vet I know, will ever put any dog to sleep.
