Please has anyone in trnc seen my two husky dogs?? ...They've gone missing from near black olive cafe in Alsancak...one pure white bitch,one brown male,...kids are pining for them,went missing early this morning...thanks...please call 05488257057

Sorry to hear what has happened, hope they return pronto.

I live in a quiet cul-de-sac in Kyrenia,so no through traffic. We are quite a doggy street, 11 dogs. Recently valuable pedegree ones have gone missing. A thoroughbred hunting dog, a Shivas Kangal and from my neighbours back garden a Spaniel.

None of the mutts have gone missing, we and the Police think they are being stolen for resale. All the missing are under a year old.

I hope this is not a widespread problem.

We need to be vigilant and question anyone offering dogs for sale without the relevant pedigree papers.

Anyone else know of cases in other areas ?.

on sat 5th may i was at belaphais festival at around teatime and i saw at the side of the road two husky dogs together one was browny colour and the other was white. the road they were on was the road from the car park that leads to the abbey. i am sorry for the delay we were on holls in our home in ozankoy and have just arrived home. hope i have been of some help and you find your dogs.

There have been sightings of two Huskies on two separate boards, but there does`nt seem to have been any follow up.

Thank you for your post. I am currently on my way to Bella Pais to put posters up there. We have advertised in both english and turkish papers about our missing dogs with no results and we have put up posters but did not go as far as Bella Pais as we were assuming it was too far away. I will rectify that this afternoon. Have you seen pics of our dogs?? I am wondering if you could identify if they are the ones that you saw on the 5th May 2012, we are desperately clinging to this thread of a sighting as we were beginning to lose hope of finding them.

Have the husbands contacted the police.

the problem is i am back in england and i won't be back out until the 11th july.
i hope you find them i hate to hear about dogs going missing.

i have looked at the pics and i woulds say these are the dogs.why i looked at them was because of the white one.there cant be many hushies that have a white one as a companion. i like most people think of huskies as grey . althougth it was dark i walked passed them and the other dog was not grey . we only saw the post after we arrive home in england. please keep looking everyone . they are so beautiful and to be back home.

Thanks for your posts, thornaby I have put posters up all over the area that you say you saw them and am desperately hoping that maybe somone up there has taken them in whilst being unaware that we are looking for them. If anybody reading this knows anyone who lives in the Bella Pais area could you please spread the word. For that matter can anybody reading this please tell anyone that you know that we are desperately searching for our dogs someone out there must have some information on their wherabouts. Many thanks

It is so sad that there is not even a sniff of news. What happened about the sightings in Bellapais, or was that mistaken identity. Surely two such dogs would not be left roaming the streets? This is all so very sad. I , like many others, am still hoping for a miracle on this one.

The sightings in Bella Pais were some time ago and we have scoured the area since getting the information and put up posters but nothing further has come of it. We had a call today off somebody who said they had our dogs in their garden but when we went there they were unfortunately not our dogs. These were huskys younger than our dogs though a brown and white one and a black and grey one I think the person that found them was going to take them to KAR. It has become apparent in our search that there are many of these lovely dogs roaming the streets with the two today that is 7 in total that we have seen so it beggars belief a little that ours would be stolen when there are so many running loose in any event. At least I am hoping that is the case. Once again we truly want to thank every single person that is keeping their eyes open, the people who have contacted us regarding sightings etc all of your help is much appreciated and surely with all this concern and everybody looking out it is only a matter of time before we get our babies back

the dogs i saw where definitely huskies, i have worked with dogs for over 40years.
i have always took an interest in different breeds so there is no mistake.
in answer to marions post they were definitely on their own .
one was pure white and the other was larger and although it looked darker than yours it was brown .
the brown one was behind the white one in the dark .
this dog was brown and not grey.
i wish i was in cyprus now i would be out searching.
i really believe these could be your dogs

has there been any more news about your dogs?

No unfortunately not the Cyprus Star very kindly ran another story the end of last week with their photographs attached but it did not generate any calls. We have continued to drive around the Bella Pais area in the hope of spotting them with no luck. We have covered the entire area in posters in both Turkish and English . We are starting to lose hope of finding them.

As a person who prefers dogs to most people, (dogs are honest and do not lie) I find it abysmal that these dogs have not been seen or recognised in a place as small as TRNC.

We have spoken to a neighbour of ours who has said that on the night that they went missing he saw them early hours of the morning not far from our house so they have definately walked away and not been stolen if this is the case then they must be out there somewhere please all keep your eyes peeled.

Hi a Husky dog just like dog in the first photo has turned up at my house in Lapta, he is very friendly,has a silver collar on. Not sure how long he will stay around as we don't want to keep him,i have taken a photo of him but do not know how to put in on here. My number is 05338407681

Just come back from N.Cyprus, went up to Belapais I can now tell you exactly where I saw the 2huskies.
If you go passed the first larger car park on left and head for the abbey there is a car park on the right it was in the gateway that I saw them. GOOD LUCK

So very sorry to read about these missing wonderful Husky dogs. I so hope you find them soon. Please have you put photo's up at all the vets here as if someone has them they will need to take them to the vest one day. I will keep your number with me and keep and eye out.

Caws for Paws on Facebook have posted a picture of a Husky that was found in Lefkosa outside the American Embassy. They say it's about 1.5 years old. They're looking for it's owner or alternatively a home for it.

Have attached the picture for you, but suspect it's not one of yours.

just saw this post now i have seen the brown husky in that picture about 10 days ago in alsancak near the ariea bar saw it as i was driving down the road he had what looked to be like a lead/rope hanging from his color but couldn't catch him. will keep my eyes pealed for him ....

If your two dogs are still missing could you look on main forum and at Marians latest posting reference pure white husky dog been seen in your area today
Long shot but anything worth a chance to get your dogs back.

Judging from the all white picture on this thread, the one seen by my friends could well be your (one of )missing ones. I do hope so and that they can be found. someone must be feeding them surely. Maybe someone took them in and the white one escaped lastnight and was trying to find its way home. Just an idea? But where is it now?

Just been looking on the Lemongrove Forum and there is a white husky dog turned up at JK's Bar, Lapta.
It is wearing a pink collar with 'guard dog' on it.
Could this be your young female dog?

This thread looks to be quite old, but with no update on the 2 huskies... I hope that they are with their correct owners as I saw 2 kids , each with a Husky - one brown and one white. The dogs were definitely taking THEM for a walk - not the other way around ! They looked fit and healthy. I think it was near Tempo supermarket on the Kyrenia road before Alsancak. One of the two young boys had a large "bling" necklace on. I'm afraid that's all we can remember !

Are these the same Huskies ? Are they back with their owners ? It would be nice to know either way.

can someone up date on this please. Are these two still missing?
