Hi kibkomers. Just had my worst nightmare again. A Blunt nosed viper, in the house this time. Managed to drag Tag (the dog) away from it this time. Eventually caught and" removed" by the gardener and his 2 friends. Tag is doing the Blood Hound bit round the house, still convinced it is in there somewhere.

Maybe you have a nest of them close by? I am sorry for you I would leave home I think, having a rat in my house once was bad enough.

I think Deniz1 might have a point there. Perhaps the gardener and his pals could be persuaded to wear appropriate clothing and poke around the area with long sticks i.e. under rocks etc?

is it something the beli will deal with?

Definitely suggest you contact the belediye. Living where you are there could well be a nest. try to get help before more harm is done to you or Tag.

If not I think you need a pet Mongoose.

Maybe not so easily come by in North Cyprus!!!! don;'t know of a mongoose shop!

I had a nest of blunt nose vipers. The Alsancak Bele came and sprayed around my home and perimeter with some sort of poision that looked like liquid but came out as foam. They did not charge for this service. I had to keep my cat in doors for a couple of hours until the poision had time to settle and keep my children out of the garden for the rest of the day. I have also spent many long hours carefully lining my perimeter with moth balls as snakes do not like the smell of them. So far so good.

Thanks for all the hints. will contact beli but will be difficult to spray poison because of two dogs! It is only since this ------ reservoir or lake has been dug, that I have this problem. All thanks to the" Bellapais Muhtar" who owns the company that did the work!!!!!!I live in Ozankoy! Enough said!
