Hi,

I'm an English teacher with 8 years of experience teaching 4 to 14-year-old kids. I also have experience working in daycare centers with kids from 3 to 6 years of age, too. I can also speak Persian, Azeri, and a satisfactory amount of Turkish. At the moment, I am living on METU NCC campus.

Have you tried ESK? they may have vacancies for English teachers. Good luck

They have very high standards at ESK . So what happened to METU, or is the poster of this thread trying to get extra work?

Sorry everybody for the confusion. My husband works at METU as an English instructor, not me. I just wrote the place to let you know where I am based in case anyone would want private lessons for their kids and take transportation and tutoring venue into consideration.

Thanks for the clarification. As you live at Kalkanli I guess it might be good to put up some posters around the place and in Guzelyurt. It is a long way to come to Kyrenia etc and might not be worth your while for time, petrol, money etc.

Perhaps it would help if you could say what books you use, or whether you help children with those already inuse at their schools.

Given the number of TC's that send their children to English schools (and I am sure many more would like to), particularly to learn English, it might be worth you checking the local area to see if many families are interested in their children attending large group English lessons.

Most local schools finish just after lunch, so a couple of hours exposed to English maybe twice a week may benefit a lot of children in the future. Children learn very quickly, and even quicker in peer groups where discussions can evolve.

Maybe also see if the local school wants to offer additional afternoon lessons? Though connecting it with a school may open a can of worms bureaucratically.

Good advice, but what also come s into this equation is whether Rebecca has a kimlik card or needs a work permit from an organization. Unfortunately freelancing/se;lf employment is not an option for foreigners.

Foreigners are not allowed to help out in State Schools, so any tutoring for foreigners has to be in the private sector, . Don't want to put a wet blanket on it all, but one has to be very careful. Of course if she has a Kimlik card she could apply to schools for work.
