Hello, my name is Jack and I am a Brit planning a move to Northern Cyprus in the next couple of months. I am looking for work on the island, I have experience in the service industry and am CELTA and TEFL qualified. I speak Turkish fluently, and also very well German, French and some Hebrew. I am interested in Hospitality/ Tourism work as well as language education. If there is any interest please inbox me on here or email

Many thanks / saygılarımla

So sorry to say this but with those skills why would you come to TRNC where jobs are few & far between & pay is low.
It is not uncommon for wages to be withheld by employers for months & promised work permits do not always materialise.
Unless you have family here or can come with a sizeable sum to support you while looking for work try to secure a position before you come.
Good luck!

Thank you for replying, and sorry for my late reply. I lived in mainland Turkey for years growing up, and there I experienced all of the negative things you mentioned before, it's something that I have come to expect. Thanks for your advice, looking for positions before I come is exactly what I am doing. Are you a long-term resident of the island? From my research I can see that there are many Brits and expats living on the island, both North and South.
All the best!
