Summer job vacancies

Post by chrisandsue »

I am looking for staff for the summer season in Lapta. Bar person and kitchen/serving. Both must be honest, reliable and trustworthy. Willingness to "muck in" with all aspects of the business is essential. Work permits will be provided and commitment will be rewarded.

Please send email to sooozhall@gmail.com with details of relevant experience.

Thankyou

Every year you are looking for staff, don't you ever keep the staff you already have or maybe you expect too much.

Hi Belle,
I will answer on behalf of ChrisandSue as I was in the same situation. Being a summer place only, it is very difficult to get staff, as all people want a full time job, all year round, naturally. My business was a small family run hotel and that was one of the reasons I had to close down. I could not afford to pay all winter when there was no work. So the following year was a big headache to start again for the season.

foodie, I am not saying the hut should pay all year round but their former employees must still need the work, I just don't believe that all of them get work through the winter months.

Belle - if you have visited that particular place you will know that the tenants of it, during the months they are here, do most of the work. Often their "staff" are youngish people who want temporary jobs for the summer and are often not even over here a full year!
Permenent jobs in restaurants, when so many have little work in the winter except the long established and well known ones, are few and far between - better to look at the big hotels if wanting permanent employment - and very few of them take on Brits with no second language skills. I would think the majority of customers at this place are Britis and holiday makers, very few locals, so knowing Turkish is not a requirement I expect - and it is an ideal place to work at for the months it is open, before going on to to other things (like Uni)

Belle! If you knew The Hut or us you would know we ran the business without any staff last year as we were let down by our kitchen help who was offered a full time all year position! This also happened the year before that.

As Foodie & Mamachina pointed out, we are only a summer business and if the opportunity arises for our staff to get all year round employment who are we to argue! While we love to work hard for 7 months and holiday for the rest of the year not everyone can afford to do that!

I am really not sure why you are so concerned about our vacancy or our business and would like to know who you are, but like alot of people on these forums you choose to be anonymous! I wonder why!!!

there was a posting here which I have deleted, as it was the same a s put on the main forum and which seems to be a personal attack. even if Soner tells me I am wrong and reinstates the deleted post, it is not really applicable here as it is not a job vacancy but acriticism of a situation, so one could say it was 'off topic.

sorry this posting has been deleted because it is off topic, and it has already been agreed with the Moderators that this is not the place to discuss such grievances/problems. Whatever the facts may be and however much anyone may feel agrieved, this is not the place to air those hurts and grievances. I , and all of us, do hope you manage to resolve this .
