It appears there are issues in iOS (ipad / iphone) and OSx (mac laptops) that is affecting wifi performance of these devices. More info here

I would suggest that any iphone / ipad users having problems with their wifi connections dropping out upgrade to iOS 8.3 at the earliest opportunity.
